“A 5-star hotel in the making”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This hotel is located some 25 KM away from the City center. It was the Hotel Emporio and recently changed hands. It appears to have been remodeled and everything looks quite new. The lobby is glitzy and the restaurant serves a respectable buffet for tourists. The room is nice and the bath room is also nicely appointed. But, there were details that warrents management attention. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that the hotel is still in the shake-down periods from the remodeling.
My bathroom sink leaks big time. Fortunately there was a drain or I would have flooded the room downstairs. The bathtub plumbing is not properly adjusted. I could not switch my shower to the overhead rain shower... the nob was too tight for me to pull it out. The hair dryer cord was too short to allow comfortable usage to dry my hair and lastly, the air condition was out of calibration and I had to turn it off to avoid freeze into a popsicle. Other tan that. The hotel is pleasant , the staff is helpful, the wait staff in the restaurant is attentive and very pleasant. The room rate is reasonable.
The main issue with this hotel is its location. It is some 30 KM from the city center. Knowing the traffic situation in New Delhi, we spent a good amount of time, close to one hour one way, going to and coming back from places.. fighting the notorious Delhi traffic. the drivers in New Delhi are either saints or crazy. The amzing thing is we did not witness any traffic accidents, and not many cars even have dents. Amazing!
Another shortcoming is the lack of much commercial entities in the neighborhood. The hotel is located within it own wall off a very busy street. After you are returned to the hotel after one day's site seeing, you will almost be comfined in the hotel because there is not much outside of the hotel property. There is a nice spa with full services. But do check the spa operation time. If I remember correctly, the closes relatively early (9 pm?). Another words, you have to check in at 8 pm to have an one-hour massage. This will cut short your dinner time as the restaurant starts around 7pm.
One thing I was impressed was the security at this hotel. There were security guards at the front gate. Every car was checked using reflective mirror to see whether there are explosives mounted underneath. I cannot remember whether they X-ray the luggages.
This is a hotel which is trying to do its best. Only time will tell whether they will get there.

Room Tip: The hotel is quite large. If you don't want to walk the long corridor to your room, ask for a ro...

“A new property.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

Lobby is not very large and doesn't match ambiance of a 5 star property,Check-in and check-out were smooth.Rooms are clean and spacious. Room-service food was a bit expensive, buffet breakfast was lavish and good. Staff was helpful. Overall a good hotel but doesn't seem to be fully operational being a new property. The corridor outside my room didn't have sufficient light. We did not see other guests in the lobby or in corridors which was awkward.

“Top class 5 star hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Stayed with my family twice - total of 3 days, great hotel - great staff- who really went out of their way to help us, we stayed at the start and end of a 2 week holiday, they allowed us to leave luggage for teh two week with them. They seem to be sill finding their feet, but we really enjoyed the hotel. free wifi. Only complaint rooms of our kids and us were not together, which really should not have been difficult.

“value for money nothing more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

hotel needs sprucing up and better maintenance.tiles in driveway and porch broken, hotel looks dull and boring and in need of energy.lighting is very low and colour schemes need to be better
rooms are good and so is bathroom. amenities are okay.breakfast is excellent.i think hotel with its good location near delhi airport can do very well with changes in appearance

Room Tip: choose a room near elevators as distance is too long from elevators

“Nice enough but a let down compared to their other hotels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

If you pick this hotel having stayed at the State Tower in Bangkok then you will be disappointed as it is not a patch on it's namesake. It's a nice enough hotel but just nothing amazing as you come to expect from the Lebua name. Location is not great without a car as there is nothing nearby apart from the attached mall with 4 or 5 shops. The room was nice and clean with a TV with decent channels, comfortable bed and nice clean bathroom with hot showers and complimentary toiletries. I also paid for the hotel to post something back to the UK for me but 6 weeks later it has still not arrived and they are ignoring my emails which is quite poor.

We had lunch in the restaurant which was fairly overpriced for a distinctly average buffet. Breakfast was a bit better.
