“Not that close to the airport after all & very patchy service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We chose to stay at the Lebua in Dwarka to be close to the airport in order to catch a very early morning flight. But selecting the Lebua based on its apparent proximity to the airport was a mistake for two reasons. Firstly, at that time of day (6am), driving from a hotel in the middle of town (diplomatic enclave or Janpath) to the airport is not going to take you much longer and, secondly, there are hotels that are much closer to the airport if this is your most important criteria for a hotel (I believe I saw a Radisson and an Ibis along the way).

Beyond that, the Lebua has two more serious issues.

Location. There is absolutely nothing in the vicinity of the hotel. The mall downstairs is dead and has a very limited selection of stores. And because the hotel is so far out of town, taxis are far and few between. We regularly waited 15 minutes for the next cab to pull up at the lobby (and that's when we were first in line for a cab). So in case you are in a hurry, plan ahead and book a hotel car. Dwarka is a ghost town -- especially in the evenings. Perhaps give it another 3-5 years before it becomes a bustling metropolis -- which, no doubt, the Lebua is banking on by being the first upmarket hotel in that area.

Service. Yes, the hotel is relatively new and, as one might expect, there are teething problems. Sadly, however, the Lebua (a name which is usually associated with a positive hospitality experience) in Dwarka seems to have gotten ahead of itself. Only a handful of service staff are truly experienced to deal with clientele and some staff did not know their way around the hotel. More than half the items on the restaurant menu were unavailable (in which case, just present a smaller menu, rather than send back waiters each time to say that the last thing ordered is also unavailable). And, although it is new, it already is showing signs of insufficient upkeep, wear & tear.

I can see how the Lebua might be popular for corporate events where you want to make sure participants don't get distracted by anything around the hotel, but beyond that, I don't see the value or benefit of staying here. I should add on a positive note, however, that the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean, and the beds were comfortable (obviously they were new) -- so at least that has some merit.

“Nice and convenient”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

Close to the airport with service minded staff and luxurious rooms. The breakfast was top notch, as well as the dinner buffet. The mall at the bottom was sadly not quite populated enough yet, however there was a nice shop for pastries.

“Quiet, luxurious, welcoming: a great introduction!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

We arrived at 7 am and our room was ready! Luxurious king size bed, with soft sheets, duvet and lots of pillows to invite us to sleep for almost the next 24 hours! Everything in the room was clean, the room spacious, great assortment of toiletries supplied, etc. And quiet. On our return a snack awaited us! Within 20 minutes from the airport. A five minute walk to their above ground metro station. For the equivalent of 50 cents we rode all the way to Old Delhi. Very convenient. The staff is amazing!! Many times they took the initiative: once, to ask where we were going and then helped us plan our day trip to the Red Fort, etc (and suggested we arrange for a driver to meet us there and then outlined what the best sights to see within the time period). We purchased cell chips at the hotel and they installed them. Buffet was DELICIOUS! We even had tea by the outdoor pool! Everyone went out of their way to be welcoming, helpful, interested, accomodating! Ten or 15 minute walk to shops, bank machines, etc. A great introduction to India!

“Excellent service ,gourmet food and a lovely clean contemporary setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

We stayed at the Lebua for one overnight and two days and it was a heavenly experience. The service was impeccable , the staff was friendly and very accommodating, the restaurant had lovely gourmet Indian cuisine and our room and large bath was spacious and extremely comfortable and clean! The whole hotel staff had a very warm welcoming and beautifully friendly way of welcoming you as a special guest in Delhi! Lebua is a special place in new Delhi that we were so fortunate to experience!
