“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip to India. The hotel really isn’t easy to find – we arrived at Delhi airport & at 3am so had to take a taxi. Despite reaching the area the hotel is in (Western Expansion Area) – absolutely no one knew where the hotel was. We drove around for almost an hour, and must have asked 30 people, none of whom knew where it was! It wasn’t an exercise for the driver to exhort money either as we took a pre-paid cab! For some reason, the hotel don’t advise that the address is Abdul Aziz Road…something that really helps!

Check in was pretty smooth and we were shown to our rooms (1 double, 1 twin) on the second floor. Both were clean and modernly decorated with a fridge & small bathroom (slight shortage of hot water though!). Our room (double) was twice the size of the twin & had a nice seating area, the twin being quite pokey and dark.

Breakfast was served in the basement in a bit of a weird area that was a bit dark - it certainly didn't feel like a restauarnt area! Breakfast was a choice of American/Continental or Indian and was small but tasty. If you don't want to eat in the basement they also serve it in the room. The hotel says it has a rooftop cafe/restaurant but we never made it - we did try on 2 occasions but each time all the staff were asleep at the top of the stairs so we couldn't get there!

Locationwise - it's ok. The area isn't very nice at all - I'm slightly confused why everyone thinks it's in a great area because out of all the places we stayed at in India, we thought this was in the worst area. Yes it's near the metro stop but that's about it!

Would I stay here again - no, I'd look for a nicer area.

Probably the best value you can get in Karol Bagh, a couple minutes away from both the metro and the bazar. We stayed in a Deluxe room which was both spacious and spotless. The beds are definitely the most comfortable ones we had in India, sheets changed at will. Bathroom is also wide with a seperate shower (rare feature), with clean and brand new towels every day. Room service is fast and the food is well over average. The staff was very welcoming, and it looked like all the common areas were recently renovated. All in all, it was a great stay that we totally reccommend.

I booked this hotel based on the very good reviews on Tripadvisor. It is clean with no major problems with mozzies, but do take a plug in repellant to be on the safe side. It is in a quiet area, but it is in a back alley so can on first sight seem a little dingy. The air condition worked well. The curtains in the room were on the thin side so remember to keep those eye patches from the flight into Delhi. Although not in an area that is too loud and busy, as the hotel has marble walls and floors, all movement outside the room is heard, so also keep the ear plugs from the aircraft. We booked a taxi pick up via the hotel prior to arrival, which was a good idea, and a good 'in at the deep end' experience of the Delhi traffic. For Westerners wanting to take a rest from the spicy Indian food there is a Macdonalds, Pizza Hut and KFC near by! The breakfast is not worth bothering with to be honest, a choice of toast, butter, jam and some Indian dishes! Overall for a few days in Delhi for those on a BUDGET it is fine. The hotel arranged a city tour for a day. The staff were friendly and keen to help where possible. There is NOT a roof terrace. If staying for longer and perhaps able to splash out I would recommend a 4 star hotel should be booked, but for £45 per night for a deluxe room one can't complain.

Stayed with family ,clean with helpful staff. Nicely decorated bedrooms, decent bathroom. If booking trips make sure you understand terms. Any queries dealt with efficiently by the senior manager. When next in Dehli will definitely stay there again.

We arrived in the evening, and we experienced that it is not easy to find the hotel. The rickshaw drivers dont know where the hotel is, even the adress was given. The hotel is in a dark side alley, with no good signing, no wonder its hard to find. To offer pick up from the train station would be friendly and saving us a long search for the hotel. The bed was good, the room quiet and that was it. The service is nothing special same for the hotel. There are cheaper hotels worth more your money becoz you get the same sort of hotel, room and service.
