5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012

The food served was excellent nice decor and the best thing is The staff knows what they are serving , the product really deserves some more attention , I believe the marketing , PR are not up to the mark , but as a restaurant they do aome seriously good food .
The Restaurant manager was amazing he gave some nice information about food , this is really a place which , I recommend this place to all who really want to enjoy some nice south Indian food.
And dont forget to ask your Stewart for raw mango chutney.

“Cool decor and excellent food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

Visited this place and quite amazed at the variety of the cuisine on offer. Dishes that I've never heard of before from the Coastal Parts of South India, each well cooked and beautifully presented. The location could be improved slightly (the entrance is a bit narrow and hence easy to miss) but definitely recommended for those looking for something different from the normal North Indian fare. Wish we had this in NYC, it would rock.

“Cosy little oasis in a bustling marketplace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2011

Spice Water Trail is located in a famous South Delhi market. It serves authentic Coastal South Indian / Malabari / Mangalorean cuisine. We enjoyed a dinner there on Diwali eve and it was excellent in all regards.

The ambience is a mix of traditional south Indian and contemporary modern ideas. Thankfully, unlike most other South Indian restaurants in Delhi, it does not overdo south Indian theme and music too much. The attendants were cordial and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter recommended the Mutton Sukka which turned out to be very good. Podi Idlis is also something that we can recommend for people with adventurous palates!

The Bar had relatively fewer options but they managed to rustle up an excellent Bombay Sapphire Gimlet. They also took good care of our four year old son, taming down the spices for his food. We topped off our dinner with a superb jaggery & dry rice payasam.

To sum up, Spice Water Trail serves a cuisine not yet common in Delhi and does so with some panache.

“Great food, fabulous spices and an ambience that is apt, yet not overtly South Indian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2011

One of the best things about Spice Water Trail is their service. Pleasant staff who know their food and a manager who is proactive make for a great experience.
The food is excellent ... but the variety of spices that make up south indian cuisine are not meant for the faint-hearted, or 'faint-tounged'.
Food I recommend - maddur vadas, chicken gonghura, all the rice, the pachadis, appams, boothai curry, prawn and raw mango curry and some yum french desserts (inspired from the french colonial rule in southern India).
Go for a chilled out south indian meal... its a nice glimpse of southern cuisine without spending the money to travel down there

“Awesome south Indian food in a comfy price point”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 20, 2011

The food was great here. Have eaten south Indian at lots of places including Mysore, Bangalore etc so was able to appreciate the flavours. Especially loved the cauliflower bezel and coming from a hard core meat lover that's a genuine compliment. The stew and appals were excellent and my dad who is a conservative diner loved the Squid rings in the starters. Do save place for some amazing pineapple halwa in the dessert.
Also must mention that their service was warm and attentive.. They staff was helpful with ordering and knew the food they were serving well.
