“loved everything about it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

highly recommend it to everyone heading to Delhi. everything was perfect, from the location (Saket) which was a 5 min walk to the metro, to the accommodation (super clean and comfortable) and of course to the wonderful host Ashwani and his diligent and friendly staff!! Andrea and I faced problems initially with our train booking and Ashwani was so helpful with this - he even went the extra mile by booking train tickets with his personal credit card (shows you how kind he is!!) the stay was made extra special with their great hospitality and the wonderful breakfast of never-ending poori provided too. loved everything about it!!! thank you Ashwani for the beautiful experience. you made india even more special to us :)

We stayed here for our first and last night on our trip through India and Nepal. Ashwani our host was warm friendly and very helpful. The accomodation is first class, clean, comfortable beds and a great shower. The location is close to restaurants and the metro. Breakfast was good. Overall the ambience was lovely - a quiet location - we slept very well. Ashwani helped with our journey to Agra with good suggestions for places to visit. Thanks to all at the Tree of Life for making our time in Delhi special. Namaste Kate and Andy.

Having heard horror stories about the standard of accommodation in Delhi we were pleasantly surprised with the excellent standard at the Tree of Life Bed and Breakfast. The room was large, well equipped and clean and hot water was available for the shower. Our host Ashwani couldn't have been more helpful and provided us with local information, maps and recommendations.

The location is outwith the central Connaught Place area however I think this is an advantage as it is much calmer and quieter. Getting to the centre was very easy via metro when we did want to enter the chaos!

Excellent value.

This guest house is just wonderful. It is clean, the breakfast is lovely, everything works! The best thing about this place though is its owners. Ashwani helped my husband and I with everything we needed in Delhi. He is a gem! If you stay here, you would be wise to ask him for some recommendations about food and shopping, he gave us some great tips. Also, this neighborhood is the perfect spot in Delhi, not too noisy/crowded/touristy. I would never want to stay anywhere else in Delhi.

This was our family's second visit to Tree of Life. We stayed here twice in 2010--once at the beginning of our trip and once at the end but only for one night each time. On this visit we stayed for three nights and Tree of Life lived up to our memories of it.

Before arriving Ashwani, the owner, answered a whole variety of my questions. His replies via email were prompt and helpful. He offered to arrange pick up for us at the airport and it was a relief to exit the airport and see his driver waiting for us. Tree of Life is about a 30 minute drive from the airport.

The guest-house is not a large one--only 6 rooms on 2 floors but it's quiet and exceptionally clean. A 5-minute walk takes you to the Saket metro station so all tourist attractions are easily accessible. Ashwani provided good maps and his own advice on how to tailor our day's activities with suggestions for restaurants we might like. Krishna, his assistant, went with us on our first day to help us set up a SIM card for our cell phone and internet connection.

It wasn't one thing but a whole variety of little things that made Tree of Life a great choice for our family's visit to New Delhi. We recommend it without hesitation.

This hotel was recommended by India Someday, who planned our India trip for us. My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights and we were incredibly impressed. We arrived in Delhi on my husband's birthday and Tree of Life sent a driver to fetch us from the airport at 8am. Shortly after arriving at the hotel, Ashwani knocked on our door and told me that they had organised a birthday cake for my husband. I don't remember mentioning to Ashwani that it was my husband's birthday, so it was a truly amazing, heartwarming surprise.

During our stay, we had access to free wifi and plenty of bottled water, as well as tasty breakfasts. There was also a telephone which guests were welcome to use at any time. Our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. After explaining in detail how the metro system works, and telling us about key tourist spots in Delhi, Ashwani also gave us a bunch of Delhi maps and info packs. The train station is a few minutes from the hotel, so we hopped on the train and set off to explore all the sites Ashwani had recommended. When we checked out, Ashwani organised a taxi to take us back to the airport.

Ashwani was a truly hospitable host and the rest of the staff were friendly and willing to assist us with any query we had. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We have stayed in Delhi many times over the years and have never found anywhere quite like Tree of Life. I couldn't recommend the place strongly enough. As the previous reviewer said, nothing is too much for Ashwani! He is just absolutely the perfect host. There are all sorts of other plus points too, like the fact that you are a 5 minute walk to the metro, a 5 minute autoi ride to the Qutb Minar and about 15 minutes from Hauz Khas!
At most guesthouses and hotels we can often pick out something that has been overlooked by the owner, but there really was nothing that Ashwani had overlooked! The rooms were lovely... breakfast was great... there was printed information to ensure we didn't get lost... even one night when Ashwani organised a taxi for us he ensured that one of the room attendants came down and spoke to the taxi driver before we left to ensure that there were no misunderstandings about where we were going. At Tree of Life you really felt looked after, but not smothered at all. Will definitely be staying here again when we are next in Delhi.
