“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2012

Good Hotel, reasonably priced, situated next to two nice malls which have good eating options including Hard Rock Cafe. Breakfast was a nice spread. Rooms are a bit small, small but well equipped fitness centre.WiFi was not working for a day when i was there due to some ugrades, but otherwise no major issues.

Recently stayed twice at this hotel and was very satisfied with both visits. The staff was great - very helpful with suggestions for our excursions around town. If you are a Hilton elite member be advised there is no lounge, but we were happy with the restaurant. Their breakfast buffet is fantastic. Also their indoor connection to three different malls provided some pleasant diversions to the usual Delhi noise, traffic and heat. We took the metro rail to see the attractions - the station is only a 15 minute walk away.

The hotel is clean, and the rooms are nice and spacious. The breakfast was good, and the service is outstanding. The staff are polite and very helpful. I will likely never go to India again, but if I did, I would stay at this hotel again.

I picked this Hotel because I was confident of the quality as well as having more privacy in the big convention hotels.
This hotel is located between 2 very model shopping malls with very western style high end shopping. You will want to take the hotel cab from the airport because it is somewhat hard to find. The staff is delightful and very willing and able to be helpful and not arrogant. The rooms are very modern and the hotel has been converted from a Marriott. Good business center.
I was having meetings with very public people and am somewhat known in India, and this provided all of the luxuries without all of the hassels of people coming over to interrupt your meetings and say hi.
My Indian counterparts agreed that this was a better choice than the premier well know western hotels. The restaurant is not particularly impressive in any way, however there are several western style restaurants, (Hard Rock Delhi, TGIF etc in the malls adjacent. I expect to be using this as a "Basecamp" for my future trips to Delhi.

Room Tip: Be nice. Arrogant foreigners end up politely being given the poorest value. Do Ask for best deal and...

Dear Stochasticman,

It is our pleasure to be your "Basecamp" during your stays in New Delhi!

Thank you for your kind review of Hilton Garden Inn New Delhi Saket, which we wish to clarify, is in fact a newly built hotel that opened in 2009 (not a conversion from Marriott). My team and I are delighted that the hotel and our hospitality met your expectations and that you felt well looked after during your stay. I have also noted your comment on our restaurant, which will be duly addressed by my Food and Beverage team.

Should you be planning your future stays with us, please contact us directly on DELSK_Reservations@hilton.com. We will do our utmost to ensure your preferred room and the discretion you need during your stays.

Yours sincerely,

Stayed 2 nights at the beginning of a 3 week tour. Arrived at hotel, taxi driver took a while to find it. Nothing spectacular about reception but very quick check in, room typical of Hilton Garden Inn, main thing it was very clean.
Staff very attentive especially at breakfast. They explained all the food on offer. Handy being next to the mall.
A great place to stay when 1st arriving before heading into the madness of the rest of India.

This holiday inn is relatively new and is clean and fresh. The room size is ample with all mod cons including a flat screen. Newspapers are delivered in the morning plus housekeeping chap your door at night to see if anything needs replenished. This is not something I've ever experienced in other Holiday Inns which is a shame - saves you having to phone housekeeping for an extra shampoo or loo roll.

Staff were all very pleasant. Can't comment on food as didn't eat in the hotel restaurant. Swimming deck and hot tub are lovely and the gym is well equipped.

Regarding location I'm not sure where the best location would be to stay in Delhi as it is a massive urban sprawl with the sights spread out. We'd planned to hire a car and driver but initially tested out the underground (a 5 to10 min walk from the hotel or a 2 minute tuk tuk ride for about 40p) and thought it was great so decided to use it instead. Got a 3 day pass for £3 or so - tremendous value. Nearness of hotel to the underground was therefore a bonus.

Eating options are plentiful in the adjoining shopping arcades though you could be anywhere in the world.

All in all more than pleased with this hotel and would definitely stay again, especially if you want a light and easy introduction to India.

This is the best place in the DLF place in Saket in Delhi should you be shopping in the area.

Try the buffet lunch does not have a very wide variety but is very reasonably priced and more than adequate for a mid day meal.

The continental section of the buffet was more interesting than than the Indian section and very good. The pastries in the dessert section was just about ordinary although the fruits were good.

The waiters were friendly particularly with children and very helpful when it came to service and or special requests for tailored food for kids.
