“Hotel stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I´m very satisfied with my stay in the hotel. The service was excellent and the staff was very helpful. The cleaniness was also excellent. The restaurants offered different delicious varieties of food. Location could have been better.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

This was my fourth or fifth stay in three years at the Hilton in Janakpuri and I was happy to note that the years of human traffic has not taken its toll on the facility. The rooms were still in the same original shape and the overall property maintenance quite good by Indian standards but not perfect by any means. The wood floor in the vestibule leading to the pool was still slightly warped, the interior of the guest elevators a little worse for wear, the pool area in Delhi's 105 degree heat still missing umbrellas or shade of any kind, and that's all the negatives I could think of. On the positive side, the staff was just as warm and courteous as ever, often doing a little more than expected to please the guests, the rooms and bathrooms just as huge, which is really appreciated on long stays, as mine usually are, and the gym still super clean with all the machines still looking new.

I will continue to be a regular at this Hilton. The hotel itself is a decent 5-star without the glitz and glamor of a Leela or Imperial and the rates are unusually low for a 5-star, perhaps due to its West Delhi location. However, Janakpuri will not be considered a far flung location by any means. There are two wonderful features of this property that very few 5-star hotels in Delhi can match. First of all, the Metro station is practically at the gate, and even though I have a car and driver at my beck and call most of the time, sometimes it is just more efficient to take the Metro. The second feature I like is the huge shopping center next door. Most big hotels in Delhi have nothing around them within walking distance, and I enjoy the people watching aspect of the local markets wherever in the world I go. While not one of those air-conditioned western style malls that have popped up all over India, this sprawling, slightly old-school shopping complex has hundreds of stores and dozens of restaurants where the locals eat, and I prefer those to the often desolate five-star hotel restaurants charging ridiculous prices. The Hilton coffee shop is usually lively but I refuse to eat dinner in the same place I had breakfast. At the shopping complex, try Berco's for Chinese or Moti Mahal for Indian. The Chinese restaurant at the hotel is superb as well, but don't go there before the normal Indian dinner hour, which is 8PM onwards, or you might be the only person in this huge restaurant.

My advice is to go for the executive floor. The rooms cost only a little bit more (usually around $20 more) but the private lounge with breakfast in the morning and snacks and soft drinks all day make it worthwhile. Sometimes the hotel includes free drinks in the bar downstairs in the executive room rates, which makes the $20 premium quite a bargain.

The hotel should immediately get rid of the light colored, crushed velvet chairs in the lobby. The chairs look as though they are covered with grime but it is just their crushed velvet look with different shades of dark and light. Wrong choice!

Hilton is know to managing some of the best property in NCR .. This is close to Airport and at the doorstep of Metro station providing rapid connectivity to town. I was there to attend a seminar happening at their ballroom located on Ground Floor .. Was pretty impressed with the GRAND LOBBY .. Although i was busy most of time in seminar with all meals arranged by hotel catering only but got a chance once to eat at chinese restro which was good ... Staff was friendly ...

Recommended if you have business in West Delhi only

We stayed here for 1 night, got upgraded to executive room which was a bonus as a gold member of hilton honors. It was on a seperate floor with executive lounge access which served breakfast (limited options than the normal spread downstairs) but exclusive. Rooms were neat, bed was great, we really needed to catch up on our sleep after a 20 hour flight. Ordered room service, prices were exorbitant to say the least 3 paranthas costing 2000 rupees or so with taxes! But we were too tired to complain, seemless check out the next day

This is the first time I stayed here. I normally stay in central delhi but as our office is in the west I chose to stay here. It was a good decision. The rooms are nice. Fairly spacious. Check in and check are fast and a decent gym. And the breakfast chef was very helpful in dishing up two perfect poached eggs, not easy in India let me tell you.
The service is a bit slow especially the bar.
All in all good and I would stay here again.

really India is a very marvelous country, everybody should visit , it contains a wide range of verity from every thing but the most attractive is that all people from all levels are seams to be happy and enjoying life plus the very hard work and high profession in all products specially the hand made items. I recommend strongly to visit India and to reside in Hilton Hotels

The key point of this hotel is the quality of service, this extends at every level from the doorman - reception to all other staff, plus an amazing ability to remember names. The rooms are well furnished, good size bathroom with separate shower and fast wifi. Decent size flat screen TV.Practically no outside or corridor noise
The downside comes firstly with its location, OK it is close to a metro station but "out on its own" in terms of other local facilities.
The biggest disappointment was the outdoor pool. Surrounded by concrete paving, very little greenery and the sun loungers are not equipped with umbrellas. I hardly saw anybody using the facility, it appeared totally sterile and with temperatures well over 100 degrees most uninviting.
The quality of the restaurants is also very variable.
My overall impression is that I felt imprisoned, even with a driver and good a/c mercedes the effort of trying to battle through New Delhi traffic from the hotels location proved too much
