“Almost perfect...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Eating some snacks in the Reception area was our first pleasure, where you can have a simple roll or pastry on easy chairs and view the unhurried activity around you. This area was as light and spacious as you would expect; the standard room was of course well presented and comfortable. The porterage of luggage was efficient, the porters and reception staff attentive to a degree. It took some time to make the bath tap run hot, whereas the shower produced hot water much more quickly. Along the corridor on the eighth floor there is a door marked "refuge", which appears to have been designed to let people out but not to return to the landing, but a small handle had been fixed to allow re-entry to the landing; this space was essentially a concrete balcony with excellent views of the city in two directions. The Italian restaurant had space a a relaxed feel as well as great food ; companions also spoke well of the Kashniri restaurant nearby. You would need a taxi to explore the centre of the city, and there is nowhere of interest to walk to near the hotel, but as a reasonably luxurious base after a long journey it has plenty to offer.

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better the view from your window over a wide expanse of the city.

New Dehli is a loud and bustling city, but you wouldn't know from the peacefulness of your hotel room. I enjoyed my stay at the Hilton. The rooms were clean, food at the restaurant was was good, and the electricty never went out (common problem in India).
The staff was extremely polite and helpful whenever I needed anything. I would definitely recommnd this hotel and would stay there myself if I ever return to Dehli.
This hotel was part of the vacation package I booked, so I do not know the cost to value ratio. My breakfast (buffet) was included and that was great because I was cautious where I ate outside of the hotel.

Had a business meeting with some colleagues from Germany staying here.
- Pathetic staff
- After requesting someone to take order for coffee in the lobby, a guy turned up after almost 25 minutes
- They brought mineral water when we asked for regular water. Then they insisted that we consume the mineral water as regular water would take at least another 15 mins to come by.
- The water bottle was delivered without glasses to drink water in and again we were told it would take 10 mins, though fortunately they did bring it in 3-4 mins!!! (wonder how they managed it)

We had lunch at their Italian restaurant, Pomodoro:
- No suggestions on meal ordering
- The lasagne was lousy, pathetic, dismal... Full of tomatoes, I almost choked on it

Pathetic service overall, though the place has nice decor.
Don't think I would recommend it to anyone.

The wash rooms were also not up to the mark.

Just an average hotel. Not maintained properly, may be they are not getting enough customers so they are not spending much on maintanance. Water is not free its Rs.150/Bottle ( MRP - Rs.15). SPA is Fine.

The hotel is very good; many food varieties (although prices were incredibly high), nice rooms with many amenities and a very professional staff. Service was excellent. The atmosphere in the swimming pool is a bit on the industrial side - all grey, almost no trees or vegetation. Oddly, it's situated at the 4th floor of the hotel. It overlooks the city and at evening time, after sunset, there is sometimes a cool breeze (in the right season). What actually put me off was the location - Janakpuri is inconveniently situated far off in Western Delhi and the only life-saver around is the nearby Metro station (Janakpuri East, Blue Line). Unless you use the Metro, you are bound to be stuck in Delhi's horrible traffic or travel near the notorious Tihar Jail, quite disheartening to say the least. There are no attractions near the hotel, only a shopping center. Uttam Nagar, one of Delhi's worst areas, is not far away, so wandering out after sunset is a very silly idea. The hotel isn't close to the airport either. To sum it up, the hotel is great, not cheap at all, and its location is the fly in an otherwise very tasty soup.

I have stayed at this hotel a few times now, and am very impressed. I am a diamond guest with Hilton chain, and they really make you feel like a VIP at this hotel. The staff are really great, and go out of there way to serve you, and are all very welcoming and lovely.

The hotel is a little out of the city, the only drawback. I would recommend this Hilton over the other Hilton properties in New Delhi, as it has a grandness, and professionalism that the other hotels, while nice, don't have.

The property is very luxurious, and there are many shops right next to the hotel. Also the metro is right out the front door, which is convenient.

I highly recommend this hotel for those who have been in India for a while, and need an oasis to check into and relax. There are four restaurants on site, that all serve great food (different styles), and a lovely pool, gym area. It is easy to spend a couple of days mainly just in the hotel, and the immediate area relaxing....

Thanks to all the wonderful staff here who have made my stays so memorable and comfortable!

Room Tip: Executive floor rooms are high and have nice views of the Delhi skyline. The suites are very spaciou...

The hotel is the nicest Hilton I have been to.
Rooms and lobby are amazing. Their restaurants are very good, and their breakfast was the best in India .
Spa is very nice, loved the massages.
The staff was really nice. The chynna gold restaurant was very good.
The only downside is the location, there is nothing close by and the area is very ugly.... BUT that's why we are here right? To see other ways of life.
