“Artsy, easy going bar, live music, & decent-sounding menu”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2012

If you're looking for a laid-back, bohemian/ alternative/ rock n roll bar, come here, although it may not approach your ideal entirely. We arrived after a dinner somewhere else, but were tempted by the (more continental) menu. The live band (good, & fun!) was close to the end of its show, but the place was still lively and continued to be so after the music ended. Note that the stage is the size of those is very small basement bars, and only the 2-3 tables and the people standing in the equally small 1st floor area can actually see the musicians. Reserve a table here if the latter is what you're after. Otherwise, TLR spirals up as a narrow 'tower' of inner balconies, and the top ones are actually busier and more spacious.

“A great place to hang out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012 via mobile

The pilli pilli prawns are just amazing. The place has its own character. One of the few places where u can chill out except the sitting isn't very comfortable for large group.....

Must go place for the experience

“A little slice of home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2011

When I walked into TLR for the first time, I felt as if I was walking into a bar in Seattle. It's a chill place with a very international crowd - good people hanging with good people. The Ragu pasta is legit, and the Honey-Lemon-Ginger Tea is fantastic.

Servers are sweet and will remember you if you come back again (and again and again, as was my case) and the music scene is diverse, cool, and often accompanied by amazing visuals.

Depending on the time of day, it can be a nice lunch spot, a quiet reading spot, a place to catch up on your wi-fi, or a full-on party.

Recommended. Two thumbs up. Five Stars. Yes.

“Stupidly Overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2011

I've been here a couple times since we're living in the neighborhood. The first time was for a quiet dinner on a weekday with my husband. The food was okay. We had a couple of their pasta dishes and they really didn't live up to expectations. And a small margarita was ghastly overpriced. My husband did go back for Open Mic night and really enjoyed himself atmosphere-wise. We just went back tonight and enjoyed the live reggae music but the food was just okay for what you pay. Overall this is a place you shouldn't go for to enjoy the food. While it does have more lux ingredients, you can pay just as much and get really wonderful food (i.e. Olive at Qutub or similar with a more upscale ambience). I'd go back to this place for the live music. Wouldn't recommend it otherwise. What really hikes up the bill is all the different taxes - soda water tax, alcohol tax, etc and an included 20% service charge. We took some friends there for drinks and paid exactly 50% in taxes and service. So keep that in mind whenever you order something there!
