“Worse Restaurant Ever Visited.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

Food : Very Bad {containing human hair}
Service : Bad
Ambiance : Bad

Now a days I am trying new restaurants for their specialists so last night i went to Al Jawahar at Jama Masjid. We were 3 friends and ordered one mutton biryani, one Roghan Josh, and one Mutton Korma. We were exited at that time because we have heard about this restaurant, but our excitement went away when have to wait for half an hour for the food (and the restaurant was empty (at 9:30 PM)!!!) Ok, then our came to our table. Wow looking good, smelling good but when we started eating... mhmm what a waste!!! The food was total waste. Nor it was prepared with care (as food was containing human hair also cattle hair were their). The attitude of waiters was terrible. I would personally recommend to everyone never to visit this restaurant.

“One among the authentic Non Veg destinations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

It is just next to the famous Jama Masjid in the Old Delhi area few steps before the Karims restaurant. My visit to this place was a chance and not a pre-planned decision but I was not disappointed. It is a clean place with a simple ambience. The food is good; one can try the soft and yummy Kebabs, curries, etc. The tandoori roti served is also very delicious. The prices are reasonable ans slowly this place is getting very famous with the Non veg lovers!

“Great food, decent price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2012

Have been going to Karim's Restaurant for ages now so decided to try this one just next to Karim's in Jama masjid area and to my surprise the food here was equally good if not better than Karim's

we ordered a Chicken Achari biryani and a few Mutton Seekh kebabs and they were both excellent and were priced reasonably lower than Karim's
the seekh just melted in the mouth and along with the onions and the mint sauce served alongside it tasted even better
the biryani had a taste of Achar(pickle) and hence no other gravy was needed along with it
the service was good and the food was brought in no time and it was steaming hot when brought to our table
will definitely go here again especially because there was no waiting for a table

“Best food in Delhi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

It was the best food in Delhi and probably India. Great Mughlai food!! We had a lamb and a chicken dishes both were delicious!. Very cheap too, lots of locals and families. We came following the recommendation in the Bible (the lonely planet) and were nicely surprised. I wish we could go back some day!

“Good Mughlai food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2012

Good place to go to when the Mughlai food craving attacks you! It's right next to the Jama Masjid so not hard to find at all, and it's as good as the nearby more famous Kareem's. We had delicious Chicken Changhezi with hot fluffy tandoori rotis- quite a delight! (I did suffer from a mild Delhi belly later, but not sure if the spicy chicken dish was to blame). It's quite spacious but still choc a bloc with customers on a Sunday....you may have to wait your turn to be seated. You may even end up sharing the table with strangers, but nobody minds here. Don't expect amazing service, but do expect lip smacking food :)
