One thing the North Indian brothers should understand is that Dosas, Idlies and Vadas do not constitute South Indian meals. These are mere snacks. A South Indian meal comprises of rice, Sambhar (and perhaps curd) at the minimum. One can find several ad-ons like a vegetable, rasam, papad, payasam etc. So, I almost always order a Thaali when looking for a South Indian meal. So, I ordered a Thaali at Karnataka Food Centre. It comes with 4 Nos hot poories, rice, vegetable, papad, rasam, halua, soft and silky curd, pickle. A standard and delicious fare. The place is well managed, decently priced (Rs 90 for a so called fixed Thaali). They offer everything second, third or even fourth time. Then how is it a fixed Thalli? Service is quite good. On week ends, one may have to wait before getting a table. All in all, a good joint. But not for those who love spicy food.
