“Okay hotel if you want this neighborhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

The hotel is okay in a sort of Motel 6 sort of way. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the man apparently assigned to take care of our floor, the doormen, and the customer relations person who worked the breakfast room. The rooms clean enough, but pretty cramped for a family of 4. We stayed 6 nights and the breakfast buffet had enough variety that everyone found something to eat with getting too bored of the same thing every morning. An acceptable place to stay if you want to stay in this area.

But then you have to ask yourself why you would want to stay on Arakashan Road. We thought it would be a good central location, close to public transportation, but that was wrong. Arakashan road is lined with tourist hotels, but there is basically nothing else there. No restaurants that are not just part of the hotels. (We ask our doorman to recommend a good place nearby and he pointed us to a McDonald's a couple blocks away. Sadly, this might actually be the best nearby restaurant.) The New Delhi train station is only a few blocks away, but unless you are only carrying a backpack, you are not going to walk there. The streets are filthy and the traffic too chaotic to drag your luggage. It turned out that the train we took to Agra left from a different station anyway. There is also a metro station nearby, but I doubt you will use it. We tried to walk there one morning. After navigating the crazy streets mentioned above, you then have to climb up on to a sketchy bridge crossing over the train tracks, which then dumps you down into a spot bordering the main red light district (i.e. a slum full of brothels) and another slum. At that point, although we only had about 2 more blocks to get to the metro, we decided it wasn't safe to go any further and just caught a tuk-tuk to our destination. After that, whenever we left the hotel, we took a tuk-tuk to Connaught Place's metro station or all the way to our destination. In hindsight, choosing a hotel in/near Connaught would have been far better.

We are a mature couple recently in New Delhi for a wedding. We spent 8 days at the Krishna Hotel, where we were welcomed warmly, extremely well cared for and our requests always addressed promptly. The staff were sensational and over the course of the 8 days we came to know them well. There was always a sincere welcome and smile each time we walked in the entrance of the hotel and the level of politeness and interest about our daily adventures, exceptional. Whilst the surrounding environment was not celubrious, at no stage did we feel unsafe, nor were we hassled when outside. A polite but firm "no" always worked. Our room was always spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. We had a great time and found the hotel was very good value for money.

Room Tip: We were in a room which faced the street and was a good vantage spot for viewing the outside activit...

This was my second stay in Hotel Krishna.

This hotel is professionally run. It is very clean and the first overall impression is reassuring. The service is very good and the staff are very helpful. One of the cleaners patiently helped me when I was struggling to open the door to my room. ( I had been turning the key in the opposite direction!)
The front desk staff and the guest relationship manager, Enna, are all very obliging, they know where to you can buy stuff and the autorickshaw prices.
The food is very good .I enjoyed the breakfasts as there was a big variety of dishes to choose
from.
There is also a travel desk that can arrange tours for guests.
I will definitely use this hotel again.

After reading the reviews when booking the hotel, we were very apprehensive when we arrived, but what a pleasant surprise. The staff were friendly and the checking in went smoothly. The room was clean and neat and spacious. The hot water was no problem once you understand how it works. The electricity and geyser switch on when the key is inserted and it takes 10 minutes to heat up. The breakfast is very basic and there is definitely room for improvement. There is a safe in the room and a hair dryer which is a plus.

Unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives for this hotel. The negatives are the cold to luke warm showers and despite the constant reassurances that the problem will be fixed. It is either a case of hotel management not willing to pay for water heating at all times or an outdated and unsuitable heating system that cannot adequately send hot water throughout all the floors of the hotel. The other negative is the poor breakfast offering. The positive feature of this hotel is the large and comfortable beds. Overall I would avoid this hotel and go to a hotel that actually rectifies problems with their hotel for the benefit of their guests.

i preferredd to stay at the place because it was close to the railway station and centrally located and the fact that it offered me a great price did not go unnoticed as well. For a budget stay it offered me a good stay experience from nice clean rooms to basic working amenities and the food at the place was good too. staff was helpful to the extent that i never had to ask anything twice and they were pretty helpful with the local knowledge so altogether it was a good time spent at krishna
