5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2012

wow! the cabins were AMAZING. It was so calm, so relaxing. The water was awesome. Also, the owner is very very helpfull. The Cabins are very clean and the breakfast is included. No electricity except for a fews hours at night, in the owner cabin. But he will be happy to charge your camera and phone for you. During the day, there is a restaurant open until 4h00 pm. For diner, you can catch a fish and the owner can cook it for you. Honestly, it's a 10 on 10! It is the best place I stayed ever! If you like nature and water, I recommend it a lot!

The cabins are Eco, in that there is very little running water, and no electricity, other than the batteries that generate the little fans. Coral cay is one of the reefs in bocas del toro that you would ordinarily visit on one of the boat tours, but having been there a couple of times before we wanted to spend a little longer there. We really enjoyed just jumping into the sea outside the cabin, or exploring the nearby islands in a kayak. We were well looked after by the owner, a Panamanian called Johannes and his worker vergilio. Compared with other Eco tourism in the area, this is lower cost, but probably more basic. We just swam, kayaked, and relaxed. The main downside for us was the sandflies, which bit us mercilessly despite attempts by the owner to ward them off. Be warned that, unless you take you own food, you will have no choice in the evening but to pay johannes for dinner. Nevertheless, his food is simple and tasty. And you should factor in the cost of transportation to the cabins - the boatmen will undoubtedly charge you a lot.
