Hi, I’m Pablo Wong, I spend a splendid weekend on Bocas del Toro. My partner and I, we were guide by a nice boy found Las Olas de la Madrugada Hotel. It has very good space, near the center, clean, nice, A/C, Cable TV, bathroom with hot water, and it look very good. They charge us $42.00 each night and it includes a generous breakfast. My first impression was good price for a nice hotel.

In our second night everything was good until around 1:30 a.m. while we were sleeping somebody enters to our room and stole my wallet and my friend cell phone, my partner woke up when the thief was exiting the room but he though that I was exiting the room, so when he turn around he notice that I was on my bed.

He wake me up and made the report to the Police, one of the owners helps me to call the police, and the owner argues to the police that we left the door open, which was not true. At 3:00 am we went back to sleep and lock the door, and at 5:00 am I heard something strange, check the door and it was open again, it seems that the thief want to enter again to the room. For me this robbery was done by a person who had access to the doors keys so make your conclusion.

I suggest to the owner to put another lock inside the door, so that ones you are inside, nobody from outside can open the door. The Police Also told him that they should lock the outside door at certain point at night and put a bell outside so that the guest that arrive later can get into the hotel, and to put a camera in the hall pointing into the entrance.

If the owners make this adjustments, this place will be safe.

I was really going to refer this Hotel to other person, but with this situation, you take your risk going into this place.
