This was our first time visiting Bocas and after researching for over a year, we decided to stay at Tropical Suites. We were worried that our 8 day stay would be too long for such a small town, but boy were we wrong. The staff at T.S. we're most helpful with booking our daily activities and giving us suggestions of places to visit, restaurants, and a sports bar where we could participate in our weekly Sunday funday football viewing was spot on. We were always greeted with a smile and pleasant conversation. The rooms were very clean with a nice closet to store your clothes etc. the only negative thing to say about the room was that the sheets had seen there day and that there was no ventilation in the bathroom. We would recommend this as the place to stay in Bocas!

It has a view photosynthetic lol / :) its location in the middle of downtown Isla Colon.
Therefore, It offers a great selection of food, supermarkets, nightclubs and very close to other islands, such as: "Red Frog Island" or "Isla Zapatilla" (white sand).
Perfect weather, fun, romance and all that, under sunsets.

Delicious Caribbean rice and beans, fish with garlic.(course) Mmmmmm just exquisite!
With day tours, you can enjoy Bocas del Toro, Panama.

Tropical Suites is in the centre of town on the water’s edge. It is not a hotel as there is no restaurant, bar or other hotel facilities. Having said that it is really not needed and in some ways this makes it even nicer, as it is just suites. Bocas town is mainly small restaurants, bars and small supermarkets. Breakfast is taken in one of the local restaurants with a voucher, Lemon Grass, just three doors down is probably the better. There is no neighbour noise creep in the rooms as in some hotels. The rooms are fitted with a small kitchenette, sink and fridge. The air con, Wi-Fi, and plumbing work fine, though the only ventilation in the bathroom is a small high level sliding window onto the hallway outside the room. The rooms are a good size and clean, maybe they could just have a tweak of attention on some details. The owners and staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
The only down side is some noise at night from a disco or bar along the waterside which starts at 21:30 until the early hours, and on a Saturday night here is the world’s worst karaoke competition from the bar next door which runs until around midnight or until someone probably shoots them! Light sleepers may be better on the town side (slightly, but then no view). There are many water taxis and boat options for island tours. The island of Cayo Zapatilla is mentioned in all guide books and is very nice. But step foot on the island and it is USD 10 per person. Collected by someone more efficient than a London Parking warden! Maybe it is because there is no receipt? There are many alternative nice free beaches, so just sail around and don’t get off the boat. Bibi’s is a nice Bar/restaurant on a nice beach just USD 1.50 p.p. each way in a water taxi on Cayo Caremero. Go to Bocas del Drago by land taxi USD 35 return and then take a water taxi to Bird Island ~USD 25 for one or two persons return. Maybe ask the water taxi to drop you at Star Fish beach on the return. Then walk or take a water taxi USD 2pp, back along the beach to the start and have lunch at the small beach restaurant ‘Yarisnori ‘ simple but good.

Nice owners, clean rooms, centrally located in the center of Bocas Town, this hotel is probably the most modern on Isla colon. A great base to tour the island or hop on a water taxi to visit other islands. No bar to speak of, unfortunately, but there is so much around that it did not matter too much.
