The first time we stayed at Cocomo was for one week in July 2003 and we enjoyed our stay so much that we have returned to stay every year since. We like the fact that it only has 4 rooms so it offers more privacy than a bigger hotel. We like where it is located away from the main part of town (but still in walking distance) and that it is on the water. How perfect is that? Well it gets better because Doug (the owner) is really nice and very easy-going. And his staff can't be beat for being friendly, helpful, hard-working and honest. They take such good care of us that we hate to leave to go home when our vacation is done. The rooms at Cocomo are nice sized, clean and comfortable and everything that you find in the rooms are very well taken care of. I can truly say that Doug and the staff are very honest people and we would trust them with our belongings. On one of our stays, when Maggie did our laundry, she found a large sum of money in one of my husband's shorts pockets and came and asked me about it. I told her that we didn't lose any money because I carry all the money, but she insisted that we must have and gave me the money. I asked my husband if he had left any money in his shorts and he said yes...in one of the side pockets. It was quite a sum and she could have kept it but gave it back to us instead. Now that's honesty. The staff of Cocomo are hardworking and you will always see them busy cleaning and keeping the garden looking nice. They also serve up a great breakfast and are willing to learn new ways to prepare food to satisfy even the finickiest eaters. What I like best about Cocomo...besides the coffee...are Eneida and Maggie who I really enjoy spending time with and of course, all the people we have met during our stays. Some of them have become great friends who we keep in touch with and try to arrange our vacations so we can get together again. There isn't anywhere else we would stay in Bocas...except for Hotel Lula's if Cocomo is full. They're pretty nice people too!
