If your idea of a great hostel is one with a roof deck and computer lounge, comfy couches framed by hand painted murals, a clean well used kitchen right across from the cannon in the central square, Heike is your place. If you like the beautiful Swedes, Dutch and Argentinian world travelers speaking twenty types of accented English; Japanese artists, hunky surfers, and wood paneling, Heike is your place. If you like comfy bunkbeds cooled by rotating fans, cold showers, and managers that know your name and call you "mi amor," Heike is your place. Beds are $10. If you've stayed for more than a week, you may be kissed more than twice on your way out. People loose themselves here. It's like an international family of cool; so be prepared. You might make friends--find yourself out at two in the morning with an Irishman, an Aussie, two Dutch and a bevy of husky voiced South American women. Nothing makes the free pancakes and coffee in the morning taste better.
I like room 9. No AC, eight bunkbeds. Screened windows.
