“Excellent minsu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013 via mobile

Location of the minsu is just around 100 meters from the town centre.. Though up a slope, but is nearest to the bustle of activities.
Friendly service from the lady boss n her staff.. Lady boss managed to remember every guests by name..
Provided advices and information upon check-in.. As room was not yet ready, lugguages were offered to be brought our room while we were exploring and visiting Cingjing.
She also provided sound n logical advice when I wanted to visit Sun Moon Lake and go back to minsu to stay.. Her view was I can bypass SML again when I check out and move on to Taichung. However I decided against it since I dun wanna tour SML with lugguages in tow.. She den provided me with information on how to take the public buses back to the minsu, instead of offering the ferrying service that the minsu provided at a cost, knowing that I dun like to wait for the transportation.
Scenery from the room was awesome with mountains, clouds and forest as the backdrop.. Right out from a painting.
Room was big, and the bathroom was big too, fantastic after a long day out..
First night I thought dinner would b provided, however please note that if you wanna have dinner, pls inform so that they can prepare. So I decided to go Carton King. The second night we had the dinner at the minsu. Wad a difference it made, if the first night dinner is consider normal price with decent meal, den my dinner at the minsu is consider outstanding home cooked food which impressed in terms of quality n quantity.. It's was the most satisfying meal I had these few years of travelling, and I seriously doubt it would b toppled.
Breakfast is normal, the food are nice though variation each morning would b nice.. The soya milk is v nice.
If given a chance, I would definitely visit again.

We booked 2 rooms - one for 4, and another for 3. The rooms are spacious and the beds are big. Views are good. The rooms have no air-conditioners. One room came with electric heated blankets, and another a standing heater (looks like standing fan but does not rotate). These were initially not obvious to us, and we had to call and ask before we discover these. The bathrooms are pretty bare, and not heated. There are water coolers (hot and cold water) in the rooms, which are convenient.

The blocks of rooms are situated on a steep slope, and you need to climb steps (not sheltered). We had old folks with us, and the minsu owner (Nita) kindly offered to use their vehicle to fetch them to the rooms from the reception area each time they need to get in and out. That was very very nice of her.

On rainy days, we opened the room door to find umbrellas hung on the balcony for us. What thoughfulness.

The breakfast included is a good buffet spread. We ordered dinner the first night we arrived, and were pleasantly surprised by the spread for that price.

You can also buy discount attraction tickets from them. Down the slope from the minsu, there is a big 7-11 store, Carton King and Swiss Garden.

Overall, a pleasant stay in this minsu. Recommended.

Overall a nice minsu with great hospitality.

The minsu owner briefed us on all the surrounding attractions after we have settled down and gave us suggestions on how to plan our itinerary for the day.

We stayed on level 3 which offered us a great view of Cingjing. However, be prepared to climb the steep stairs if you stay on level 3-definitely not for the elderly. Our room was spacious, comfy and clean.

Dinners were great and different dishes were served for the 3 nights we stayed at Misty. Owner would always go round to ask if everyone was ok with the food and if we needed extra helpings.

We wanted to book the sunrise tour on our 2nd day, but the owner advised against it the night before as she felt that the weather wasn't looking good and we may not get to see the sunrise after all due to poor visibility after the rain. And she was right!

We will definitely stay here again if we return to cingjing in future.

This minsu is great for its convenient location and warm hospitality. The third floor room we stay in is nicely decorated and offers beautiful view of the mountains. However, the room has no heating. Only the beds are heated. In the night, it gets really cold. I would probably come back to this minsu only in warmer seasons.

paid about S$180 for family of 4. excellent value. room was big, but bathroom had musty smell. heater in room and inside the mattress, very thoughtful cos it was really cold. view from balcony was beautiful, felt like we were floating in the clouds. wifi was unstable.

dinner was surprisingly good. steamed fish, grilled drumsticks, soup, stir fried local cabbage etc. had a very satisfying meal.

it rained throughout our stay n we gave the trip to green green grassland a miss. a pity.

This is our very first experience in a minsu and I am glad I picked Misty Villa. It's location is very good and easily accessible to some restaurants and also mos burger, starbucks and not 1 but 2 7Eleven shops which was my children's faves. Due to high take up of rooms, my booking for family room has to be spilt into 2 rooms for 2 separate nights, so we got to experience 2 different room styles. First night, we arrived past 5pm and it was already dark, a very nice lady came to welcome us and requested our driver to drive us and luggage up to our room. My hubby initially said we can manage with our luggage but thankfully we took her advice cause she said it was about 77 steps up a steep slope to our room! On the 2nd day, they arranged for free pick up to send my family to Cing Jing Grasslands. When we returned to the minsu, our packed bags were delivered from our room to the next room which was above the restaurant. This 2nd room had wood panelling all over, nice but a bit dim for me personally. The toilet was huge with a jacuzzi. We were there in December so it was quite cold as both rooms had no heating but the beds were heated with electric blankets. Breakfasts was simple but nice. Dinner was included on our 2nd night- which for me was also nice and delicious.. Last but not least, do remember to carry a torchlight if you have to go out at night, the slope leading to the minsu is a one lane driveway with no lights and can be a little difficult for some people.

Room Tip: Book early as this place is very popular. If you have problems walking, ask for rooms nearest to re...

For first timers to Cingjing by public transport, this is a centrally located Minsu to stay at. Centrally loacted to 7-11 (2 stores), MOS Burger and Paper King restaurant and park operated by Paper King. The room is very big (Room 105) for a family of 5 good enough to play simple badminton. The bathroom is very big with an equally big bath tub good for 2 pax. It's good to book with meals option, as you're served with hot meals after a hearthy walk back from Cingjing Grassland Farm. Ms Chen who is fronting the Minsu is very pleasant and care for your well being. Unfortuantely for a Minsu, the owners are no where to be found. Operate more like a commercial boutique hotel.

Room Tip: Request for a room just above the dining table if you don't like climbing.
