“Remote and magical”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

The food was amazing, the beach was remote and gorgeous. Monkeys scampered around in the coconuts near my room. The beach was empty and wild. You must be prepared to be remote however. You won't know it from the food and staff, but you go down potholed road to Turtle Bay and when you're there, its not near much. But the staff will get you a tuk-tuk or car where you need to go. But be prepared for remote locale. The rooms are lovely.

Outstanding location - on the headland overlooking a long sandy beach. Generous rooms, pleasant staff. Food a bit average, but otherwise difficult to fault this fantastic place. Early morning boat trip in nearby reserve receommended

Room Tip: Upstairs for the best views

We went to this resort at the end of a sx weeks Asia trip, so we were looking for a place where we could really relax for our last three days. And indeed, this was defilintely the right place! The resort is small, with a pool and an absolutely endless beach directly beneath it, where you can be certain only to find guests from the hotel. The surf is really wild at this beach, so you'd better not try to swim, but some 5 minutes walking distance, there is another beach where swimming is wonderful, and there are only a few locals to join you. The hotel tries very hard to make your stay as personal as possible - they offer various excursions (the village nearby, the lagoon, turtle watching), and it is really up to you what you make of each trip. Our smaller son, aged 7, e.g., had the idea of fishing in the lagoon , and though they had not done this before, the hotel arranged it - we had great fun and caught diverse fish and lots of prawns - see the photos! In the evening, the Chef cooked our catch for us (without charging us anything). Besides this individual treatment, the menu is really great - try the delicious curry, the jumbo prawns, or the lagoon prawns, which are almost as big as lobsters. Staff is very friendly and tries to fulfil every wish you may think of. Rooms are big, each with a balcony, nicely furnished and with a well functioning AC. The only thing which is a bit disappointing is the wifi, which only works in the restaurant area, and even there with a pretty weak signal. But nevertheless: This place is wonderful!

Turtle Bay is just outstanding! Small hotel with a fantastic service and location on a hill with direct ocean view. The size of the hotel means, that you get a very personal attention from the frindly staff. Just ask for your own choice of dinner, and the kitchen will do what's possible to get it. In front of the hotel you see a fantastic beach. If this is to windy out of season, you can find another beach in a short walking distance to the other side. The hotel itself is very pleasant and clean.

we've been to Turtle Bay more than 3 times in the past 2 years, and it keeps on getting better .... You're cut off from the rest with nothing but ocean ocean & ocean !!!! The first visit was for our second wedding anniversary and the staff went the extra mile of arranging a special dinner without any requests from us...

The food is simply awesome ! The lagoon prawns are the best I've had. Best quality of the hotel is the view ... whether it's from your bedroom, the pool, or the restaurant it's simply breathtaking. I'd suggest this hotel to anyone.. It's an ideal location for weddings as well.. We were lucky to catch a glimpse of one of the weddings the hotel has organized, and it was quite nice and in true "Turtle Bay" style..

Room Tip: All rooms are the same, but upper level rooms are a bit more private than the lower level ones.

When you arrivé the view of the beach takes your breathe away. The beach for your eyes only And the big pool overiooking the beach was a real seller for me! The rooms are very big, good airco, nice beds, clean And again that view.
The staf of the turtle bay does everything to make your stay pleasant. We had a tuktuk ride to watch the village And complimentary foot massage. The village And the surrounding bird reservation is an absolute must. Take a walk around 17.00 and children great you And you see a lot of birds, monkeys, of course the very old tempel 1835. Only thing that can be improved is the website ( not steen on Apple devices) And the wifi is only in the receptionarea?
