Lal and his family make you feel like your one of their own. Such a warm and friendly place to stay while you visit Sigiriya. I came to visit the ancient ruins, which were amazing, but I will return just to stay and spend time with Lal and his family. The 3 rooms are very clean, comfortable and well maintained. Good wifi,Hot shower, toilet roll, soap and daily fresh towels are also provided. Make sure and bring a big appetite as the fresh delicious home cooked food lovingly prepared by "Mama" comes in big portions and keeps on coming, all in Sri Lankan style. The ruins are only 15 min walk or 5 mins away on Shehans cool mountain bike. Lal gives great advice and tips on how to visit the rocks and some hidden gems to visit by yourself. I was even invited to a party where I shared good times with all of Lals family and friends (lots of Arrack and amazing food). I stayed for 4 nights, but wished I could have stayed many many more. This is the place to stay to have a real Sri Lankan homestay experience. As I said to my new "Mama"... Number one!!!
