The entry fee was LKR 250 per person since we were from SAARC country. When we reached there the elephants were bathing in the river. The handlers were rude and were not allowing tourists to get photos with elephants. Better place to spend time with elephants was a place on our way back from Pinnewala (about 5 KMs) which offered 30 mins elephant ride for LKR 2500. The elephant would also go to the river and sprinkle water on you as part of this 30 mins. Here the handlers were good and polite with the elephants.
