We decided to splurge out on this hotel as part of our tour of South West Sri Lanka. Until then, we had stayed in small guesthouses. The setting is spectacular - set in the hills above Kandy, with a lovely cliff top (if not a little on the cold side) pool.
The rooms were well furnished, although smaller than I would have thought for the price we paid. We had a top floor room facing one of the best views in Kandy. We did ask for this and would have been very disappointed if we had been given a room at the back of the hotel.
Service was excellent, however the food was just ok. There's a large buffet and a la carte. The view makes up for this, however, it's quite expensive compared to other hotels / guest houses in Kandy. If I visited Kandy agaiin, I'd opt for a smaller guest house in the hills, which would provide better value for money.
