“Ok for one or two nights”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

We went there with my girlfriend last year and we were amazed by the location of this hotel. Lost in the middle of the jungle after a looooooooong road (mind your butt, there are holes everywhere and the car can't avoid them) if you like to be isolated from other people, this is the place to go.
Staff is very friendly, and is always here if you need to. Meals are correct, and eating outside with the beautiful view is a real pleasure.
Bedrooms are really really basics but your bed is protected from mosquitos which is a good thing in this part of Sri Lanka. Bathroom is clean. Don't search for extreme comfort, this is not the point here. Enjoy your stay in the middle of nowhere, and take advantage of the location.

This place is a long way from the town centre and a mile or 2 up a dirt track off the main road. You cannot get anywhere without transport but the owner is helpful with arranging excursions and transport.
A very quiet restful place in the country, with a large garden and a swimming pool. It has an attractive open lounge -dining- reception area but the rooms are bit dark and dingy although have plenty of space. There is a private verandah for sitting and relaxing. It all smelled musty. The rooms and especially bathrooms need refurbishment. Hard uncomfortable mattresses and awful lumpy pillows. I asked for a softer pillow and the very helpful staff offered me several, unfortunately all hard and lumpy. The room we were allocated had obviously not been occupied recently. The bathroom was awful. Dirt and dead insects in the shower and the toilet, the shower rail tied up with wire, a disgusting shower curtain all disintegrating and no shower bracket. Also the basin was very wobbly. The mini fridge was closed and switched off. The smell made us gag when we opened it as it had not been cleaned out. All this was cleaned when we asked but wouldn't have happened with proper supervision.
The staff are kind and well meaning but need a bit more supervision.

This is somewhat in the middle of nowhere but worth the effort for a night in the countryside where you are literally surrounded by fields and rugged landscapes, birds and wildlife.. Our chalet room was a little tired but was clean and comfortable. The food was very good, particularly the vegetarian curry which was yummy!

We didn't use the pool as the water was cloudy but we expect it was possibly just a bad day.

Excellent value half board stay.

You need to drive a little trough the fields before getting there. It is surrounded by the forest, the place is lovely.
The comfort is correct and the employees are very kind. They give good service. They walk with us to show a pond that was nearby.
Food is good and swimming pool is clean.

I stayed at this resort during the off-season and loved it. The owner and his nephew could not have been friendlier or more welcoming. The resort is settled on seven acres of prime bird watching wilderness through which the owner offers lovely, guided dawn walks to see and listen to the many birds as they greet the day. Although the resort is only a short drive off the main road, it is peaceful and quiet. The open-air dining area was evocative of those at safari lodges in Africa and at night, the little fruit bats zoomed in and out of the rafters. My room was large, clean and comfortable. I didn't go in the swimming pool but it was pristine and inviting..

Extremely friendly if perhaps 10Euros overpriced for a double room. The pool and restaurant were clean, the rooms less so. But this is a quaint and quiet place to stay way from the dust and bedlam of Dambulla. The perfect place to come back to after climbing Sigirya. They will cook to order for kids, chili free too.

Difficult to access specially after an heavy rain... We appreciate the nice swimming pool after one day visit to Pollonaruwa and Sigiriya. The place need some renovations and have the potential to become a Nature Resort because of this location! Food was ok, but may be more choice would appreciate.
