“Decent place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

Some friends and I stayed here in November last year for a few nights. We enjoyed our stay here, but it wasn't anything special. It's situated on a nice little road that's pretty conveniently located. The rooms are modern but quite soulless and unremarkable. The staff were really great for the most part. Unfortunately it's probably a bit too expensive for what it offers, but we did quite a bit of walking around the area before deciding to stay here and we couldn't really find anything cheaper. Definitely stay here if you're after something convenient and clean and you're not too worried about spending a few extra dollars.

We stayed there for 5 nights. Rather small room in te annexe, but it was probably even quieter than the main building. What we appreciated was the personal touch with everything: be it the selection for breakfast we liked or the special red rice for dinner!

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst exploring the Cultural Triangle and managed to secure the last room. The location is lovely and quiet with bikes to rent to take you into the ancient city.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Their Sri Lankan curry was delicious and we also enjoyed their hoppers for breakfast!

They also provided decent accommodation and food for our driver which was much appreciated; plus free wi fi which was a bonus. A great find and one we would return to.

I thoroughly enjoyed a two night stay at this hotel. Room was spacious as was the bathroom. The food in the restaurant is superb and with portions so large it is sometime difficult to eat the entire meal. Good internet connection in the rooms as well. Want to personally thank Jamin for his kind and attentive service. The hotel also provides accommodation for your driver if you are using one. There are several things that I would note for improvement. The sheets on the bed and the quality of the bed mattress. Two small sheets were put on a queen size bed - one for each person I assume. Not at all convenient or comfortable. And the mattress was a bit hard. One last thing, there is no screen on the bathroom window. As such, you should close the window as soon as the sun goes down to keep mosquitoes out of the room. But there is a mosquito net for the bed. I would advise you to use it.

We stayed at the Milano for two nights in December. The guest house was busy with travellers coming and going and the staff always appeared to be attentive to our needs.

We chose to eat more local at the top of the street for our evening meals and they were quite good. The breakfast at the hotel was also quite good by Sri Lankan standards but we needed mozzie coils even at breakfast as the mosquitos were quite thick.

The rooms though are the point that lets the hotel down. Our room was apparently one of the bigger ones but they are quite ordinary. The furniture was a cheap flat pack set and was very poor. The bed was comfortable enough but for the price, the rooms let the hotel down. I don't think though there are possibly better options in Anuradhapura and would probably stay there again.

Stayed here for two nights. The room was clean, comfortable and modern with a fan, air con and hot water. The hotel was also situated in a quiet street away from the traffic.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We hired bikes to ride around and the staff were very accommodating to our needs.

The hotel also has a restaurant with delicious Sri Lankan cuisine. The rice and curry was delicious - the best we've had on our trip by far!

We would stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka and we would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Anuradhapura Is one of the main tourist sites in Sri Lanka and there are limited budget accommodation options. Paid rather more than we did elsewhere In Sri Lankia but we're happy to have selected the Milano.

The hotel is situated about 10 minutes from the largest tank in Anuradhapura and 5 minutes by auto from what passes as the town centre. The locale is quiet and peaceful and the Hotel has a beer garden as well as the restaurant.

Our room was large and comfortable with modern bathroom AC and TV,

We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel restaurant as the dining options in town are rather limited. The food was good especially if you stuck to the Sri Lankian dishes.

The staff were friendly and helpful especially when arranging for an auto to visit the local sights and a car to take us to the Kalipidia.
