“I second the pricey shoe box comment”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

Perast is a nice alternative to Kotor or Dobroto to stay on the Bay, but the Admiral was the best of a bad lot there. It was reasonably clean where other accommodations weren't at all, but it's tiny bathtub with no current and a hand held wand just don't cut it these days.
They offered breakfast, but when you went down for it they had to start the coffee machine, serve a weak little bit of orange water for juice, and scrambled eggs became a greasy ham omelette. No one ate there for dinner, choosing a better restaurant down the street. In hindsight that restaurant also had rooms but we can't comment on them.
This was very pricey at E70, the next night in Sveti STefan we stayed in a place 3 times the size, super clean balcony over the Adriatic for 50E. No magic here.

We didn't have much choice to book into this hotel as there was torrential rain. On arrival we were told that the room was €50 for the night which for a hotel is acceptable, however the room was tiny! The bathroom was dirty with the heater half rusted away, the shower was a hand hold job with no curtain (yes this is a hotel).

To make things worse, one of the towel on our bed was covered in faeces - which I took down to the waiter who changed it, but no apology.

We ventured downstair to the outside terrace which was nice enough (to shelter from the rain) we ordered a couple of coffees and started to play cards, but we were told to stop by the waiter as it was against the hotel rules, I was surprised as there were no other guests on the terrace and no one around in general.

So we went to another bar up the road (Cafe Armonia) which was great and card friendly.

We checked out the next morning and checked straight into a lovely guest house up the road €16 per night (with shower curtain & hair dryer) I forgot the name but their are plenty in Perast.
Avoid hotel admiral if you dont want to feel TOTALLY RIPPED OFF!

When the tourists leave Perast at day's end, it's nice to be there and this hotel is a good spot to stay the night. It's a small room and was more expensive than any other place we stayed on this trip, plus we did pay an extra 30 Euros for one of the few rooms with a balcony and view of the water, but it was relaxing and nice for our last evening in Montenegro. The desk staff were very helpful about taking the car keys and parking (and later extricating) our car in their small parking lot. We didn't have to stress about fitting the car in or getting it out...very nice. They also recommended a good restaurant nearby.

Room Tip: If you are willing to pay more, the rooms with balconies give you the wonderful option of sitting an...

The hotel has a fantastic location and the staff at the reception ist very friendly. But you pay more than 100 € and what you get is
- a miserable bathroom,
- doors which are not closing,
- wild constructions of electro kabels which would be forbidden in many countrys,
- a noisy fridge in the middle of the room
- ham and eggs, ham and eggs, ham and eggs, ham and eggs, ham and eggs, ... for breakfast.
My advice: Look for a cheaper accomodation and enjoy the view maybe in the restaurant of the hotel.
My advice for the owner: Travel around europe and learn what hospitality means!

We just went to the restaurant, which has a fantasy location, on a jetty out into the sea with the most wonderful views to mountains and sea all around and tables right next to the calm waters.

First time we visited, the waiter was good, and the food nice if a bit overpriced. Seafood, risotto, pasta, salads, etc. They also did half portions for kids and took credit cards - most places in Perast avoid either (it's best to ask if they do before you take a table). That's handy as no cash machine in Perast, nearest is Risan 3km away.

Second time we visited, we got a different waiter who wouldn't do kids portions and got our order muddled. Both times the food was fine but not special, given it's pricier than most places.

They do just serve drinks if you want (at least off peak), and a finer place to enjoy a cold beer on a hot day it's hard to imagine.

This restaurant has to have one of the best locations in the world. It is located on a jetty in front of the hotel in one of the prettiest villages - Perast - on the coast of the fjord. The views of the fjord and the mountains are amazing. Small boats go by and about half way through our meal a cruise liner. As the sun went down and sparkled on the water it would be hard to find many more romantic settings.

The food was excellent and good value for money. The waiter painstakingly filleted my sea bass - barely a bone left. We did find here, and at some other restaurants, that waiters do need to be more relaxed and friendly. Having said that our waiter was very helpful and attentive.

We had visited the restaurant a previous day for a well needed drink. We had decided to return to celebrate our wedding anniversary. In so many ways it lived up to or expectations but one major disappointment and concern. Like so many eating places in Montenegro - smoking at the meal tables should not be allowed. Unhealthy for those eating and who do not like smoking. Staggering how many were smoking in the prescence of young children. This needs to be brought in line with non smoking policies in so many other European countries.

Room Tip: We did not use the hotel

I only had a dinner at their restaurant - we asked for grilled fish, salad and french fries instead of usual side dish for me. The waiter served us with one large plate of french fries, one large plate of a single average size fish and side dish, plus two small plates you would ordinarily use for appetizers. We sat at the table right next to the sea in the sunset, the weather was perfect, the town of Perast beautiful with just enough tourists.. and we were served with two small appetizer plates to share a single fish... dinner did not cost us much as the waiter was so considerate of our budget and diet, but I really find it a shame that they do not provide better service. Running a restaurant business with such a view should be considered a privilege.
