“Pricey for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

The hotel compound is quiet large and provides a good respite from the town. Looks like it has been around quite a while and is set up to handle bus tours. Our room was very basic for the price. The best part is the courtyard and the pool, which was a great place to hang out during the hot afternoons. The restuarant food was decent and a good value. Good variety on the included breakfast, but the coffee was awful. Large, secure parking area for our pickup was a nice plus.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, as part of an organized tour in Perù. The hotel itself is nice, as well as the service. The rooms (the beds in our room especially) were quite old and basic. The noise from the street was a problem as well during the night. Anyway, it's an ok hotel for a quick stay in Nazca.

Positive
• Room: Good size. Extra blankets and pillows provided.
• Bath room: Very large, adequately stocked. Adequate space to put things. Good size, fluffy towels.
• Breakfast bar very good, good variety
• Lunch and dinner menu good and good prices, s/. 22-45 ($8.30 - $17.00), glass of wine s/. 8 ($3.00)
• Nice pool area

Positive and Negative
• Minibar has acceptable prices although no prices are actually posted in the room and not well stocked. Bottle of beer s/. 6 ($2.25), bottle of water s/. 4 ($1.50)

Negative
• Room: Street noise. Very sparsely furnished and furniture is dated. Matrass very hard. Pillows are uncomfortable. Did not seem to be one of the better rooms in this hotel (very far to walk to reception, pool, restaurant)
• Out-dated “flat-screen” TV, door locks, light fixtures and safe
• Reception: No information given at check-in (breakfast times, etc.)
• Bathroom: Very low shower head – had to bend to wash hair

This is an adequate hotel and extremely handy for the trip to Nazca Lines and other local attractions. The reception speak English but hardly anywhere else on site. We only had breakfast which was also OK but not more than that. We went to the bar in the evening around 7PM and the barman was missing. The rooms are to a high standard and there is a free business centre. The building is grand and the swimming pool and grounds a delight so with investment in the right people (square pegs in square holes) this could be so much better. Nazca town is very disappointing but we did find a very good restaurant in El Porton across the road from this hotel on the corner (see separate review).

I used to stay in this very well located hotel 20 years ago when it was the government runned "Turistas" hotel where Maria Reich had her steady room and used to have her daily swim in the nice swimmingpool in the center of the patio. Now that it's private owned I thought it would have adapt to modernity. No way. The poor decorated rooms are still the same with two tiny single beds, worn out bathroom and bad lighting. The breakfast is depressing and I guess the waiters are still the same ones as 20 years ago, only moving more slowly and looking as characters of Fawlty towers. The food and the service are extremely poor and the inner garden with the pool, on walking distance of the main plaza are the only positive points.

Hotel Nazca Lines is build hacienda style with a red tile roof. It has beautiful pool it in the center of the rectangle. It reminded me of motels that I see in Southern California. Our room was clean but stark. There are cement floors in the room. No toiletries other than soap. We asked for a single bed expecting it to be king size. It was a small bed appearing to be full size. We were able to get very close that night. The hotel has free WiFi. Ask for the password at the front desk. The meals served in the dining area were average. Nazca is not a big city and I believe this is considered a good hotel for the area. The hotel is famous as Maria Reiche (The Lady of the Lines) lived in room 130 for the for the last 10 years of her life. If you ask the front desk they will open the room for you. It is a mini museum honoring her archeological research. The hotel is close to the airport if you want to book a plane to see the Nazca Lines.
