We give this place a 5 star rating. Paid $50 for 1 night for 2 people; very clean, hot water/hot showers. Bed/room clean. Breakfast starts at 5 am, very good. The water from the river put us to sleep at night.
Not noisy at all. Very centrally located. Near the river, right off the train station. Staff very nice and helpful. No complaints at all for the money which was well spent. Would stay here again.

  • Liked — very well priced; very clean and great service
  • Disliked — nothing

Stayed at La Pequena Casita on March 10th, 07 for 1 nite.

Pros:
- Close to river. Nice rumbling sound to sleep with.
- Close to bus station to MP.
- Big room and bathroom with hot water.
- Comfortable beds.
- Service can be great at times (though it can be pretty bad as well - read cons)

Cons:
- On going renovations are too messy.
- You will miss the included breakfast if you plan to head to MP in the first bus
- Service can be pretty bad at times, when u ask for extra towel for example.
- For some reason the "clean" towels had a musty smell to them.

Things to consider;

A heater isn't really needed in AC. If u cannot sleep with noise, then the river will keep you up. Also, if you plan to sleep late, the buses to MP will wake you up. I would stay there again but would bring/buy my own towels.....

Our room had no hot water in sink or shower; no heat; both sink and toilet leaked and promises to repair were not kept. When I aked for fresh towels after mopping up I was charged 5 Sols. But, I was given another tp roll for no charge. We also had a view of the river but the construction zone around the hostel type hotel ruined the ambience. Anyway, Agua Caliente and Machu Pichu were great just stay some place else. Also, don't book or use Rainbow Tours in Peru as they abandoned us and we ended up paying twice for our flight out of Cusco and our last couple nights at Palacio Imperial Hotel in Cusco...too bad as the hotel was nice but were going to block our passports if we didn't pay up even though we had paid vouchers.

Spent one night there. Meet a friendly staff, had a clean big room. Hotel is just one block from the bus station to Machu Picchu. If I went there again I would stay at the same hotel.

We were worried it might be hard to find the hotel, but Aguas Caliente is a tiny town and this hotel is right across from the train station. You can't miss it.

We thought we'd left a fan on in the bathroom, but it was the sound of the water in the river across the street. The buses that take you to Machu line up outside the hotel along the street, but we never really noticed any noise.

Great hot water and terrific water pressure. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. A nice quiet hotel.

The staff, however, does not speak much english which could be a problem for some travelers.

  • Liked — Clean & convenient
  • Tips/Secrets: — Don't sweat the fact that they don't meet you at the rail station....they're so close it doesn't matter
