“Best food I've eaten during my Peru trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2009

Indio Feliz was recommended by my travel guidebook and it indeed was great! Homemade ingredients like potatoe chips, bread and butter made the dishes incredibly tasty. Their veggies are to die for, as a meat lover I even enjoyed their mushrooms better than any piece of meat I ate before during the 24 day trip, and there were many good ones. Great atmosphere too, highly recommended if you stay in Macchu Picchu / Aguas Calientes!

“Feliz is right!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2009

Saw this listed in Lonely Planet... this was easily some of the best food we had in Peru, which was totally unexpected in Aguas Calientes. The set menu is a good deal - I would almost say it was too much food, even after a full morning hiking around Machu Picchu and up Wayna Picchu. Be careful when you order the juices, as you get a full pitcher worth 3 glasses, not just one measly little glass! But the quality, flavors, and price were fantastic.

“Best Restaurant in Aguas Calientes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2009

We learned about this restaurant when we were reading a blog on travelblog.org. It is located less than a minute´s walk from the main square in town. The inside decor is really nice and has a maritime motif. There are portholes, running lights for ships, helms, and ship models about the place. It also has a well stocked bar. We went in for lunch and it cost about 50 soles each (about $17) and this included an appetizer such as soup or salid, the main course, and dessert. With that came their homemade bread and potato chips. Drinks and tip were not included in the price. It´s really a great place to eat in Aguas Calientes after a day at Machu Picchu.

“Best choice in Aguas Calientes”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2009

Indio Feliz is a very nice restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and good food. The three-course dinners for 49 soles are very ample, with a choice of appetizers/soups, main courses including meats, fish and pastas that come with vegetable sides, and deserts. The restaurant bakes its own bread which is served with the meals. A full bar is available, including a good selection of wines. The service was friendly and polite, though a little slow, but we found that this is not unusual in Peru. I definitely recommend this place - it's certainly the best of any of the places we tried in Aguas Calientes.

“One of a kind”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2009

This was our second trip to A.C and Indiofeliz and it was as wonderful as the first time! We were a party of six and had just spent a chilly, wet day at M.P. We sat by the fireplace and warmed oursleves and dried our shoes. It was early and there weren't many customers so we took our time and had excellent service and the food was, again, excetional.. It's the kind of place where you think to yourself "there's a restaurant like THIS, here is this out-of-the-way village?" Patrick, the owner, stopped by our table to ensure everything was fine and we chatted for a while and told him our son and his fiance had just gotten married in Calca a few days earlier. (btw, if you want to get married in Peru, let me know!) We have travelled much of the world and a day at Machu Picchu followed by a meal Indiofeliz is up there in lifetime memories. (ps... the avacado/papaya appetizer salad in to die for!)
