“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

Stayed in this hotel a couple of times. Decent size rooms, a great sports bar on the roof as well as swimming pool and Thai Restaurant. Guys in the bars and restaurant are great, and its a safe and secure environment.

Room Tip: Ask for upgrade.

We stayed at this hotel for a 1-day business review. The buffet lunch was limited in offerings, meeting room was cramped and the toilet was nice but a bit cramped. Overall it was okay but I will not stay here again unless constrained.

Room Tip: Overall the facility is slightly cramped. The Manager, an Indian seems to focus on getting paid and...

I loved staying at the Westown. It is not one of those hotels that is really known but it definitely should be. As a female travelling alone I felt very safe staying there and the staff were always on hand any time of night and day should you need them. My room was very spacious, comfortable and clean with a lot of natural sunlight. Every morning there was a free breakfast buffet in the dining room which was very decent with a good choice of food. There is a rooftop bar and pool which is ace for those times that you just want to feel the sun on your skin and escape the confines of a room. There I also a gym that looked decent enough but I couldn't go into any great detail because I did not use it.

One thing you should know about Nigeria is that you will never get your change back so if you do not want to pay stupidly over the odds and have any tip taken without consent you need to carry exact money and give people only what you intend for them to have in its entirety. Of course it being Nigeria my stay was not perfect. The electricity momentarily went off and I got stuck in the lift for about 30 seconds and almost had a full breakdown, the room service pizza was nasty and wifi was on and off throughout my stay, however compared what I have experienced at other places this hotel is a fine choice and great value for money, say compared to the overpriced Sheraton. The staff do try their best to please the guests and the manager was very welcoming.

i have been to this hotel three times in the last three years. the first couple of times i only stayed over night. This time i spent the weekend there. It was a very enjoyable experience. i stayed with a couple of colleages and was thoroughly impressed by customer service and staff that always seemed to be readily available. the food at both resturants was really nice, especially the thai restuarant. my air conditioining was too cold the first night, but this was sorted by the next night.

although they were running a promo, i think its very affordable for lagos, and well worth the room rate. i would definately recommend this hotel, especially if your on business.

Had a meeting of doctors in Westown. Staff were friendly but lobby was small and cramped. Several meeting rooms of various sizes but some of the air conditioners not working and on day of our meeting the air conditioners were emitting heat in a tropical country!! This was rectified in the afternoon but then the air-conditioning was set to freeze us, maybe in compensation for the hot morning. The 2nd and 3rd floors had a stench the staff seemed to be oblivious of. The choice of food was very limited and the dining room also small. The hotel has no view of anything interesting.

Cam here straight from my wedding and en route to the airport for honeymoon and the staff were lovely.
Helped move the luggage, and we found a surprise bottle of wine and congratulations letter in the room. Room was clean, everything seemed to work well, comfortable beds etc. nice roof top pool and grilled meats etc. cabs ready and available, quite pricey but Lagos is expensive......

Hotel looks qiute nice on the exterior. Finishing and decor inside is below par. Check in was smooth. Got into room to see the Toilet seat copiously stained with urine. Toilet door does not lock. Comfortable beddings. Breakfast was good. Dinner at the Chinese Restaurant was also good. Though it was rated 4 Star, for me it is between 2 and 3 star.
