“Great guys, really friendly and enthusiastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

Muhammed and Abdoul have made us a really nice trip to the desert. Relatively cheap, though with extra attractions ;) Our advice: do not take camels, they are not being treated well. Take jeep - the trip will be much more exciting and you won't be led on a leash in caravana like a dog on a walk ;)

“Thank you - we loved our time in the desert!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013

We loved our trip with Abdoul and Mohammed from Iguidi Tours. Exactly what others have said "a real desert experience". We arranged the tour whilst travelling through Europe via email. It is always a little unsettling to transfer money to a company you haven't dealt with before but everything went to plan and even when our luggage went missing and we had to start the tour a day later it was no hassle for them. All our questions were answered promptly via email and we were put at ease that after our ten hour bus trip that would arrive late at night into M'Hammid that we would be met by Abdoul to begin our trip. Iguidi Tours is at the end of town, so if you have a sense of adventure and want to experience the desert without all the creature comforts that don't belong in the desert, then keep walking until you get to Iguidi's little office. Using locals to help with the tours you know you are in good hands, they use local ingredients for their cooking so you really feel like your money is helping the local community. Abdoul met us with his colleague and drove us to their desert camp, just out of M'Hammid where we were met with an amazing feast of cous cous and vegetables, and our bed under the stars. They have a building there with toilets and bathing facilities but expect to dig a hole once you get into the desert. The next morning we set off for three more nights in the desert. The Camels worked hard all the way carrying our food, water and bedding in the 50 degree heat and Abdoul and the two Mohammed's worked even harder making sure we were well fed, (which we absolutely were!), well hydrated and could seek appropriate shade during the heat of the day and shelter from winds at night. (They do carry a tent if the weather gets crazy - but we would recommend not using it unless you have to, you can't beat sleeping under the stars in the quiet of the Sahara! There was always a cup of Moroccan tea ready whenever we stopped for lunch or for the evening or woke for breakfast. There was plenty of water, most of it from new sealed bottles but when we filled them up again from the well we added our own purifying tablets to our bottle (discreetly - just in case), it was the middle of summer so we drank a lot but never worried about it running out, the guys have it all in hand. We did not need sleeping bags or jackets as others have mentioned in the evenings as it was still so hot, we just took sleep sheets to help protect us from bugs and sand when the winds were blowing and long loose fitting cotton clothes. We also took turbans which proved invaluable for protection from the sun and sand storms and also to keep us cool in the heat of the day, we would not have known to take these if we hadn't read others reviews on Trip Advisor so try to pick one up in the markets in Marrakech or Fez before you get there (they can lend you one if you forget apparently). The big sand dunes are amazing and worth the extra time to get there. All in all we couldn't have been happier. Abdoul took so much care to make sure we felt safe, and told us stories about the desert, we loved hearing the guys sing as we walked. They are long but not hard days walking but also a few hours each day seeking shade in the hottest part of the day, and long evenings at camp. We didn't see anyone for the four days we were out there and we had no one else on our tour (maybe because it was the middle of summer) so a book or deck of cards are a good idea to pack. We didn't need to pack extra water or food like others have mentioned there was nothing that we could have wanted that wasn't provided, They provided a rug to sleep on and sheets/blankets, toilet paper, plates, food, water etc. So just take you suncream, turban, toothbrush and some basic clothes that will protect your from the sun and some good shoes (they walk bare foot but that sand can get hot!). A wonderful experience that we did not want to end!

“A huge thank you for an amazing experience - our kids loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013

Iguidi Tours is a small family company run by Abdoul & I'd emailed him in the UK to arrange to camp in the desert. I'd done some research into a few other companies offering to camp in the desert & am very pleased we went with a small personal company. We were a family of four (2 adults & 2 kids aged 6 and 4). Abdoul could not have been more helpful & genuine from the start and really worked hard to ensure we had an amazing night camping under the stars. At the end of the road in M'Hamid he has a small office (you'll need to bypass all the big companies zooming around in their 4x4's). He'll meet you there & take you to his house just outside M'Hamid (you can also stay here). We had 4 camels (the kids rode with us) & 2 guides (who were lovely with the kids) & at sunset we rode for 2 hours, set up camp in the middle of nowhere, built a fire, baked bread in the sand & watched the starts for hours. Abdoul provides blankets & mattresses but I'd recommend bringing a warm sleeping bag. It gets very cold at night so you'll need warm clothes & hat. If you want your own desert experience without all the extra comforts then I'd highly recommend going with Abdoul.

“A big thank you!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 1, 2012

Dear Abdoul and Mohammed, We want to thank you very, very much for the nice experience. We had a wonderfull time with you and Mohammed. One thing we find regrettable is that we didn't spend one more night with you.It was soo nice, evertime I think about the camel when he had come with us in the night, I had to smile. In Belgium we're not usual that something like this happened. Thank you again, wishing you and your family good luck in your further live! Karin and Ben from Belgium
For the one who read this; go with Iguiditours!
They are lovely guys, do everething wat's possible to give you a real good time.
They are just a small family company, and its a hard live there in the South.
You can help them to go with them , and not with a big company!

“Real experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

We emailed Abdoul and made our booking, he obviously put a lot of effort into replying to us in English. When we managed to drive to the end of M'hamid (through other offers of treks) we were greeted by Abdoul and his colleague. Abdoul made this trip for us he was ultra laid back and made us feel at ease straight away knowing we were in good hands. A real desert experience without creature comforts... just what we wanted! Thank you Abdoul, we wished we could have travelled to Timbuktu with you!
