They call it Errachida, but to me it is Merzouga. The last couple of miles was rough driving but could be done (very carefully) with a passenger car. We had a 4WD, but I had driven on worst roads in Africa without 4x4.
We decided to splurge on two nights next to the Dunes and rented a suite. It was very spacious, hot and cold water and room controlled A/C or heat (we were grateful for the heat). The décor is warm and very comfy. The private terrace opened right to the dunes. Great opportunity to watch the stars of the Sahara skies without light pollution at night and smoke a pipe with Bourbon in the other hand… Everybody was very friendly. The food is mixed blessing: breakfast is great, dinner is very forgettable. The staff is reluctant to feed the open fireplace, saving minded I guess.
The place is immaculate. The bathroom is spacious and everything functions well. The little pool is nice, but not very practical in late November. By the way, they are open 12 months, no summer or winter shutdown.
