“They treat you like family!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011 via mobile

This was my second time staying with Terry, Susan and Liam. As with my first stay, they treated myself and my brother more like family then tenants.
Some points-
-Liam brews the finest pot of mint tea in all of Morocco and his music selection will offer a great soundtrack to your trip
-Susan serves up some great omlets each morning with all the fixings
-The deck is the most relaxing place in the world!
Make sure if your heading to Chaouen to stay here!

Even though I only stayed in this hotel one night, it'll be a long time before I forget the experience. Quite frankly, staying here is like staying with family or an old friend, you just get that type of feeling. The hotel, owned by a Scottish family who also lives there, is impeccably clean and has a commanding view of the town of Chefchaoune from high up on the valley which is a big plus for me. After I arrived to the hotel, the owner, Terry, sat me down and gave me concise explanations of what was available to see in the town as well as practical advice on how to get around. This was very helpful. Later on, just by asking, I went on a guided hike to "God's Bridge" with his son, Liam, who's an expert on the area and has full command of the local dialect. This hike is an unmissable treat for anyone visiting this area. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to avoid the hussle and bussle of the medina experience and wants to relax contemplating the expansive views from the main deck.

We booked our stay at the rif-for-anyone based on all the previous amazing reviews and this guest house did not disappoint. The views from the terrace are AMAZING and the owner Terry and his wife were very welcoming and down to earth. Our room was very comfortable and came with its own western style bathroom. Breakfast is included and Terry made us one of the best omelets I have ever had. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Chefchaouen.

a great place to stay for total relaxation! the family who run it are really friendly and know everything there is to know about traveling around morocco. a neighbouring local woman will make delicious authentic moroccan food by special request - well worth it! it was also very family friendly (i was traveling with a 3 year old). there are 3 ancient cats and a dog living in the hotel (a big plus for my small companion) but they stay in the common areas - not the bedrooms - so it caused no problems for me (as someone with cat allergies). would definitely recommend!

Not a traditional Riad and the owners live on the property if those things bother you. But they don't get in your way and are happy to help with anything. The owners make you very welcome from the outset and help orientate you to the town. The place is very clean and comfortable and is good value. It is up in the hills overlooking the town so you get great views From the roof terrace, and is a pleasant 15 minute walk to the medina, and a very easy 15dh taxi ride back.

This was the second time i stopped at Rif-For-Anyone and i'm sure i'll be back. The center of towns only a ten minute walk if you can manage to drag yourself out of the hammocks on the rooftop terrace, The rooms are cheap and clean and breakfast is served whatever time of day you get out of bed. The owners are friendly and have a good knowledge of the local area and everything Moroccan. With the mountain air, sunshine and mint tea this place is a great getaway.

Room Tip: Get directions from their website.

My second visit in six months,so it has something special. It has the best location in town and the ex-pat owners are extremely welcoming and look after their guests really well. From march to october the weather can be very pleasant or really hot,but in the moroccan winter, as Chefchaouen is 2000 ft up in the mountains,it can be wet, cold and rather miserable and this b+b has one fault- no heating in the rooms. This is because the normal Moroccan house is designed to stay cool in the hot summers, which means that it can be a bit chilly in the winters. As much as I am fond of Terry,Suzanne and Liam for the way they looked after me,when the sun was out it is a fabulous place to stay, but if they want to attract guests in the winter months(when it is still stunningly beautiful and the best time to visit) they really must invest in some heating for the guest rooms.I spent a lot of time under the covers when it rained, which was the only way to keep warm. This is a shame as I would love to stay during february and march, as flights are dirt cheap at these times and make a stay possible for pensioners like me. So from March to October it can't be beaten, from November to February-take a warm coat and thick socks!!

Room Tip: Book early.
