“Beautiful accommodations, amazing hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2012

From the moment my wife and I stepped into Dar Manara, we knew we were home. Ana took amazing care of us, especially after the two of us had gotten incredibly sick (a mix of sun poisoning and something we had eaten in Fez). Breakfasts were fantastic and filling. The location within the heart of the easily navigable medina was perfect. We walked everywhere and thoroughly enjoyed all that Asilah had to offer. Room rates were exceptionally reasonable, considering the location and the amount of personalized attention and care we received. A/C worked wonderfully. Rooftop terrace was quiet and comfortable. Said, the co-manager was also a fantastic host. He runs a restaurant down on Paradise Beach and arranged our taxis to and from, as well as cooking our meals and taking great care of us while we were down on the beach enjoying the sun and sand. All in all, a perfect stay, and I can't wait for my next visit. Thank you Dar Manara!

Room Tip: All rooms are great.

we were coming to stay in this riad last month for 1 night, we booked 3 rooms ahead of time, the day we were arriving, we received a message from the management mid morning, saying we can not stay with them due to technique problem, but we can stay in another riad in close distance. We were all very upset. The management team was telling us how "professional they were", but we think totally opposite. I think this is a really issue here, in the message they kept telling us how professional they were, but in reality is that we- as customer dont think that way, and our opinions should be count, not themselvs. dont you all agree?

I am staying at Dar Manara right now, and it is an oasis of peace and beauty for travelers from all over the worlds. The co-manager Said is very generous with his time and ample knowledge of this fascinating town. I love my room and the shared spaces in this guest house. I guarantee that you will love this place.

We stayed only one night at Dar Manara but we were welcomed and made to feel right at home. Ana is a most gracious host and she is most interested to know that her guests are comfortable. The small hotel/guesthouse is tastefully decorated with each room having its own color scheme. Our room was very clean and every detail perfect. It is very quiet at night and in the morning a nice and filling breakfast is offered.
The Asilah medina is very small and manageable and a welcome relief after the chaos of Fez where we had spent the previous four days. Dar Manara is easy to find (although we had to ask directions a couple of times) and close to everything in the old city including the sea which is a few minutes walk away.

We have only positive things to say about Dar Manara, and the hospitality shown to us by Said in our three days in Asilah will never ever be forgotten. Not only did Said teach me how to make Moroccan mint tea, he also made me feel like I was in my home away from home. Whatever we wished for, magically appeared (like the delicious cookies he introduced us to!). I hope one day to return to the amazing hospitality of Dar Manara, and to discover more of that beautiful area of Morocco. Shukran

This was the highlight of our trip to Asilah. The staff and service really add to this already charming Riad. Said was very helpful and friendly with lots of suggestions about places to visit, eat, etc. He also arranged our airport transfers and personal tours with a local cab driver, Arabi, with whom we were also pleased. We felt very safe both at this B&B and with the cab driver. The delicious continental breakfast and afternoon Moroccan mint tea were welcoming additions to our stay. However, it should be noted that few gluten free options are available at this B&B except for fresh fruit, tea, juices and the like. We were also pleasantly surprised with a bouquet of flowers in our room as this trip was part of our Valentine's day celebration. So in a nutshell: we absolutely loved it, would return and recommend it to everyone!

Room Tip: The Lila room is the only one with a queen size bed while the others consist of two twin beds. Also...
