We have recently returned from a wonderful week long stay at the Taaras. Everything about our stay was top class - the room, service and location. The resort has all the elements needed for a luxurious, relaxing break. The setting is hard to beat - powder soft sand and clear turquoise water in a sheltered bay. (The water shelves gently so was perfectly safe for our 3 and 6 year old kids.) Thankfully there are no jet-skis or motorised water sports to worry about either (or to disrupt the tranquility.) The hotel itself has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Over the years we have stayed at beautiful properties in the Caribbean, Indian Ocean, Middle East and Australia but the beachfront room we had on this holiday surpassed expectations. Attention to detail was obvious with high quality furnishings, bedding and luxurious bathrooms. My wife noted even the organic bathroom products were the same premium ones used in the spa. The TV in the bathroom was popular with our kids too. Food was excellent with choices across Malaysian, Indian, Italian and Japanese cuisines. As well as a la carte choices at the Brasserie, a buffet was available at the other restaurant in the evenings and we ate at both. We tended to have a large breakfast which was great and had a wide choice including freshly squeezed juices. We'd then just have light lunch later. The pizzas are fantastic...More
