What a place;0)
Stayed there for 5 nights and had the perfect start of our holiday.
The housereef is beautiful with rays, morey ells, Big darkblue puffer fish etc.
The food is simply delicious, and the hosts are great with a nice laidback and warm attitude.
We Will recommand this place to everybody!
If you dont like the sounds of nature (fruitbats, gekkos, water splashing etc.) dont come!
This place is a gem and we hope to come back some day.

Amazing, amazing place. Just wonderful, tranquil, it really is beach paradise made only better by the amazing staff who work there. They love turtles, coral, bark and really make the place come alive. GO. DO IT.

A charming place with 1st class service in a secluded area far away from the crowd. I love this place for its personal touch to all of their guests. If you are looking for 5 star facilities, this is not the place you should be staying at. If you stay here, be prepared for cold shower, no electricity (Generator run electricity is from 6pm till 8am), mozzies buzzing around you in the evening. Bring repellant! Squirrels, monitor lizard, geckos, a bat are residents here too and will drop by once in a while to say hello. Food is freshly prepared. I always look forward to their dinner specials. One of the dinners that we had with them is BBQ by the beach. It was lovely to spend and share our stories with fellow guests.

Room Tip: Room no 5 where our friends stayed as a bat as a roommate. We do think it is their permanent guest!

We had an excellent 3-day stay there, and the staff really contributed in it.

The bungalows are very simple but clean, and the place is very quiet at night (it is actually very enjoyable to hear the waves all night long). We could really feel some sort of Robinson Crusoe atmosphere there. All the furniture is made of wood, if not handmade.

The food served at the restaurant is tasty, slightly more expensive than the other restaurants on the same island but it's worth it. Their fruit juices are also very good. Internet works well at the restaurant.

The staff was genuinely nice, and friendly. They povide all kinds of services (scuba diving or boat taxi bookings,...). We had a good time with them after each dinner.

Thanks!

Room Tip: #4 was just perfect.

It's not a 5 star hotel, its back to basics with add ons. If you want five star, Perhentian Islands are not what you're looking for (despite what you may have heard). If you want 5 star try Redang, but you'll pay for it...

If you want partying and lots of people, shops and restaurants head to long beach or Coral bay - where, if you want a sea view, you'll discover overpriced and/or crap accomodation.

However, if you want the BEST accommodation on the island, in a secluded spot with unbelievable charm and character then stay here.

The restaurant is wooden, the chalets are wooden and the decoration is made from things found on the island - shells, coral, more wood! Adding to the charm are rope swings, hammocks, cargo nets and wooden deck chairs. The beach is the cleanest, most peaceful, most beautiful on the island also. Trust us.

Now a special thank you to our hosts: Rylan and Kerry. They effortlessly charm you and cannot do enough for you. Information, bookings, life stories! They must have to repeat themselves endlessly, yet they never lose enthusiasm and are always smiling and laughing. After our four night stay we are happy to call our hosts our friends and we will not forget them and how special they made our stay.

It's always booked up early but if you're very lucky you might be able to 'walk-in' and get a room (normally if their is a no-show/cancellation). Booking is via email and PayPal - google their accommodation and find Debbie's email. Cost is 100R per night.

Highly recommended.

I don't really have anything negative to say about this place! We approached the beach by boat, and the staff came to pick us up immediately and show us to our chalet. The chalet was basic, but very atmospheric and romantic. If you are ok to strip back to basics, this place really is wonderful (no electricity, cold shower, just a fan no air-con, lizard joining you for a shower). The public areas were very quirky and the resources (hammocks, chairs, swings, deck chairs) were always available. There can only be a maximum of 12 people staying here at once, so the service is very personal, and you feel like you're on your own there so you can really relax :) The food was wonderful, so eating 3 meals a day there for 4 days was not a problem, although they do run out of drinks quite often. The daily specials (often fresh fish) were always delicious. We had a BBQ on the beach one evening which was very special. A snorkeling trip was organized for us which was a great experience, and good value for money at around £18 pp for 4 hours). The chalets also have private decking areas, so sitting out in the evening on the beach front is lovely. This is also a lovely place to watch the sunset right on the beach. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Possibly the best place in the world, secluded, peaceful, great food, views and company - nothing else matters.

From the instant I stepped foot on the beach, I was given a warm welcome and immediately catered to my needs without even asking, but was offered a beer... which is exactly what I needed.

The rooms are extremely clean, the bedding and mosquito net was in great condition.
Even though the rooms are basic, I had a drying rack, fan, 2 small tables and clean towels.

It is so safe, nobody even closes their cottage doors, I left mine open permanently, with my tablet, smartphone, camera - everything inside - even when sleeping to listen to the crushing waves.

You might want to take a soap bar, but I'm sure they'll supply - there is also small shops in the village about 20 mins walk away.

Internet connectivity is not great, there is no WiFi which is great! It forces you to get back to basics. There is WiFi on the main beach (40 min walk) and on the bigger island if you really HAVE to connect to the outside world.

All in all, this place exceeded my expectations in every way.

Room Tip: If you really want, you can choose the room far away from the generator, but the noise from the sea...
