We stayed in Lang Sari Resort. Checked in on 4th June and Check out on 7th June. We had the most horrendous experience with the resort management and its overall cleanliness. We were quite a muhibbah group who checked in on that day. We were a group of Indian, Malay and Chinese families from Malaysia and Singapore.
This is our experience.
-when boat arrived, the staff sat under the trees watching us unloading the luggages. Boatman chided them to help us but they could not be bothered. Later on we found out the same staff were the housekeeping staff.
-the rooms were not clean or mopped.
-toilets were not washed. grime stains on it like for months
staff told us it is difficult to remove the stains. we insisted and cleaned the toilets with them to show them how to clean.
-service was bad from the staff
-the F&B and housekeeping staff loves to lepak around when they should be cleaning.
-there is no leader, manager to ensure guests are taken care.
-food is not sufficient for all guests.
-the kitchen is filthy, strewn with rubbish
-cafetaria was never cleaned or mopped
-cafetaria drinks counter was dirty and the sink, was horrendously dirty, stained and we mothers helpped to cleaned it.
-bed sheets are not changed. we verify this when our Singaporeans guests checked out and horrifying to see that they just sweep the floor and arrange the bed sheets properly. No washing toilets or changing bed sheets. Staff say no stock of bed sheets.
I have been to Perhentian, Redang and Lang Tengah. Lang Tengah has the best for snorkelling. In the morning, groups of fishes and sharks will swim near the beach and we could see so many anemones with clown fishes. This is the best place for snorkelling for amateurs like us with the whole family. The kids enjoyed it except for the horrendous experience with the resort management's lackadasical attitude which brings out the staff's lackadasical attitude as well.
Will we go again to Lang Sari Resort? No way. Not anymore. But to Lang Tengah Island. Yes. We checked out the neighbouring Redang Lang which offered even better faciliites and free flow of beverage.
Lesson to learn here? Never trust what agents and web sites published. Check out the resorts thoroughly. We booked through my outdoor.com which claimed to give us free flow of beverage - this did not came about and the clean rooms are actually the seaview facing rooms. Our rooms were totally different and without curtains!!!
We are writing officially to the officials and lodge a formal complaint so that other people will not fall trap. The resort is projecting a terrible image of our lovely country Malaysia and for the safety of children who will be staying there, the health authorities will be informed as well. There was a certification by them which we are terrified how on earth they get this certification from the Kementerian Kesihatan.
