“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012 via mobile

The Marriott in Miri is an ideal place for families. Large rooms with 2queen size beds, a massive pool and a great pool bar with good food, make it the best place to stay in Miri if you have a family. Service is also very good.

I have been here three times in May 2009, 2011 and 2012 it is an exceptionally attractive hotel especially the lobby and pool area, but the bar prices and food are over priced. Miri is an oil town and the down town area is fun but a trifle wild in places, shopping used to be cheap but the exchange rate is not so good now and it seems expensive compared to some other places

Room Tip: The rooms to the left as you face the pool appear to be more popular you want to be on the sea side...

Great sea view and friendly service with smiles. Big swimming pool and well equipped gym. Good Italian coffee counter available. Try the beef steaks, medium well done if you plan do have dinner in your room.
Good place for family to stay on the weekend.

What a great hotel! Only stayed one night but staff very friendly and helpful. Made you feel you really were welcome. Very nice rooms too and a decent rate. Clean and tidy, well stocked mini bar and a powershower. 10 minutes by taxi from the airport.

My family and I stayed in a garden suite for 1 week. This was a mixture of vacation and business. The hotel is very quaint and is of good quality. The pool is it's main feature and this is really a family orientated hotel. Unless you are a couple who enjoys the company of children I would not recommend it. For us it was ideal. Garen rooms are quite nice, except slightly cold with the air conditioning. The rooms are slightly dated and I think could do with an update, but are functional and work. Any complaints were dealt with promptly.

Its à bit aged but still a very nice place to stay. The pool is one of the main attractions, a bit of a disadvantaged because it attract a lot of screaming children. But hey, if I was their age, I would scream too with a pool like this.

Not a fully aiircontidioned lobby, but a nice breeze in when you arrive, the sportswear is oke, and service a good Heineken draft. Staff is very friendly and the pool bar make a difference after a day's work.

Had myself a room with a garden view, and it make you feel you are in the open, the balcony is nice for a sit
Rooms are very spacious, ten beds are great...

Major disadvantage is that the location is a bit out of town, so you will have to taxi your way in to Miri, this make you feel remote... For some this could be a reason to go here

Overall... Great place
