Arrived here after spending some time on the Kinabatangan River & Sepilok Orang Utan Centre. It was amazing. A beautiful beach and amazing sea teeming with the most stunning fish. Be careful when you snorkel as the water is very shallow and it is easy to scrape yourself on the coral.
The experience of seeing the hatchlings digging themselves out of their underground nest was fascinating but for me it was the turtle laying its eggs. The staff quickly remove the eggs and bury them in a protected area. You get to see the staff then release the evenings hatchlings into the sea, you just want to take them home with you they are so cute.
The whole process is incredibly well organised to ensure everyone gets to see each stage. The accommodation was adequate but you don't go there for that, it is the experience of seeing nature close up that makes it such a memorable place.
