Stayed here for two nights during our journey through Borneo and my husband and I loved it. Our main purpose for booking this resort was the location to Sepilok and we were not disappointed. You are just a 5 minute walk to see the orang-tauns. The resort has beautiful grounds...very very peaceful. As others have mentioned- if you are lucky you may see the orangs.. but we did not. There are some nice walks to take and they have beautiful flowers through out. I was impressed. The rooms were quite nice as well -- clean, had lots of room to move around and a good bathroom.
The staff was nice-- there were not many people here during our visit so the service was very attentive. The food was good. My husband and I travel around the world so we have stayed in many different places... this is one I would recommend. One other reviewer commented that there is not a lot to do..... we went to Sepilok twice during our stay and left early the next day to Hill Lodge so .... but if you want to relax in a comfortable enviornment then stay here. Be warned there is a Sepilok Jungle resort which is right across the way that many traverlers told us to avoid.... we did not stay there but had heard many negitive reviews.

We were here for just one night as part of our tour. The whole resort is beautifully designed and laid out in extensive gardens around a large lake. The wooden chalets are comfortable with an adequate bathroom. The best part is the beautiful plants, flowers, butterflies and the occasional macaque monkey or if you are lucky an orang utang. The restaurant area is very attractive and the food was of a good quality with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and efficient. It is only 5 minutes walk from the Orang utang centre which is great for just strolling along for the feeding times.

Journey to the resort:
Approximately 20km from airport roughly 30 - 40 minute drive.

Resort location:
The chalet are built around the lake and there's ample space between chalet to ensure privacy. Garden are simply majestic but be careful there's always all sort of wildlife hiding among all the beautiful orchid located around the chalets.

Service:
The staff are really pleasant and attentive, even though some the staff don't really fluent in english language (some spoke it really good, I think they are guides) but the smiles and keep saying hello makes us feel welcome. Our reception at the resort was fast and we just breeze thru it. The receptionist were courteous and patience with the guest.

Food:
It's good and the barbeque is really good, the important thing is the food is warm and fresh.

Location is just unbeatable, just imagine you're sleeping next to the orang-utan habitat. We were told the orang-utan can seen along the forest edge swinging and sometimes they even built their nest on the trees. Of course we didn't manage to see that but there's a lot of other wildlife to see around there. Comfortable room, clean bathroom with bathtub and good food is just what I need to get away from our "concrete jungle" back home. Of course the price is a bit more compare to the other lodging in the surounding area but you get what you paid for and more.
