We went to Bukit Fraser for a week end with 2 young children. Overall experience was nice, cooler than in KL ( around 25 degrees ), horseriding, little boat trip on the lake, going for a walk without sweating, nice birds around and VERY QUIET.
We stayed at the Pines Resort, cheap, large rooms but a bit grotty and run down. If you can afford it, go to the Smokehouse which is much more expensive but much nicer as well !
Be aware though that the road to get there is VERY WINDING, our kids got sick in the car, so we had to stop often...Other than that, nice destination for a short week end !
