“Nice experience but could do without it...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

We booked 2 rooms a day before our trip to Port Dickson. 1 at Lexis Port Dickson (Legend Water Chalets) and 1 at Grand Lexis Port Dickson (Legend International Water Homes).

Booked for Premium Tower Seaview at RM330 at Lexis Port Dickson (Legend Water Chalets). Upon arrival, we were informed that the room was not ready and we were upgraded free to the Premium Water Chalet instead which was originally priced at RM525, in addition, for sea view which we were given, was an additional of RM150 per night (we had it complimentary). Check-in was quick at around 545pm.

Immediately upon opening the front door, you face the toilet sink. The bathroom, with bathtub (open concept) and a shower is between the front door and the room which is separated by a door. There is also a glass panel in the bathroom floor that allows a view of the sea below. Not an amazing sight as it's just murky sea water. The toilet bowl was not cleaned. The shower has a sunroof, which could be open. However, due to that, there is no lights in the shower, showering at night is rather dark despite turning on all the lights in the bathroom.

Room is not kept in tip top condition. Between the TV and the King sized bed, another glass panel on floor, same view. The Queen sized bed was next to the window and has a sea view. Each room has its own WIFI access which is free, and the password is able to connect to any room's WIFI. Room came with balcony. 2 bottles of water provided each day. Though close to the sea, you hardly hear the waves in the room.

The breakfast selection at the coffee house was a disappointment. Basic selection and turnover of tables are poor. Cleared tables are also not cleaned with lack of utensils at both the table and the buffet counters. The eggs and noodles counters were located outside the restaurant and there were flies flying around, including in the restaurant.

Bicycle rentals to be used only within the chalets, to provide easy access to the chalets besides the buggy service which was provided free. Wait time is expected.

Checkout was fast as nothing extra was charged.

Good for just relaxation. Would suggest packing tidbits and drinks as choices are minimal in its souvenir store and nearest store is about 15 mins walk out. Fuss free stay, and the tower sea view would probably be just enough.

We stayed at the water chalets which are built over the murky waters of PD beach. PD is not known for good water fronts hence it was good to know the rooms came with an attached private pool ala Balinese style! The staff when asking us which chalets we wanted weren't too clear in their explanation even though my mom was with a walking stick! They gave us a room terribly far from the lobby/ restaurant (at least 200m).
Rooms were spacious and each room came with two rather hard/firm King size beds (not my idea of a "hotel-like" bed!). For a family of 5 we weren't allowed to "share" just one room and had to take 2 rooms instead (such a waste!) but we soon found out lots of other families beat the system and there were up to 8 people in one room even (yup this guest proudly told us so!).
Rooms are functional with flat screen tv, DVD player, microwave, kettle, toilets and shower room is massive with good toiletries and amenities. Though the gym weight machine was busted & some of the bicycles look too rusted to be used.
The game room was awesome though for a price, every game was priced but reasonable and it was fun all around regardless of age. Try out the "Sumo" game for good laughs or Air Hockey and they even have an Xbox 360 and a Wii.
I suggest taking the "upstairs room" as the pool has an infinity edge (sort of) and gets some sun which warms up the pool pretty much. The downstairs pools are totally shaded and terribly cold to swim in!!
Food at the restaurant was ok as we got a package which included buffet breakfast and dinner, mostly Asian cuisine.

Room Tip: There are "Garden" and "Water" Chalets. Not much bonus the water ones are.

Stayed here 28th-30th August and we booked 2 rooms - 1 tower seaview and 1 deluxe water chalet. the deluxe water chalet was a letdown even though it was more expensive. the tower seaview, on the other hand was big and spacious with 2 queen beds and had a fantastic view!

the international water homes next door looks more suitable for large families.

and they have recently changed their name to Lexis Port Dickson

We stayed in the main building which is like a highrise condo compared to the water chalets. The view of the ocean was excellent from up there.
I forgot my watch in the room after we checked out and "May", my contact at the hotel, reported finding it and held it until a friend of mine picked it up for me. Thanks, May!
Our room was clean and modern. The indoor pool was clean. The free Wifi was enough for my needs. Food was quite good.

Room Tip: Elevators are slow in the main building. Chalets closer to the water might be cozier if you are on a...

my recent stay there for a weekend was a little bit disappointing. We went there in a large group with more than 10 adults, 4 kids and 3 toddlers. First of all, the signage to the resort from the main road is easily missed, in fact the neighbouring hotel (I think is Glory Hotel, if not mistaken) 's signage is clearer.

We stayed in seaview rooms, which are built above the water, with a transparent glass on the floor giving see-through view to the sea. But as the water was muddy, it was nothing spectacular other than something special. There was a bad odour in the room and i was unable to detect the source until at night when realizing it came from the blanket and it was too late to request a change ! There was a big bath- tub which looked nice but disapppointed by the shower water which was yellowish in colour, perhaps a common problem of tap water in Malaysia but I think the management should aware of this and install some filters.

The buffet dinner was chaotic. The management should have expected a large crowd. The seats were inadequate and some late comers have to wait to be seated. The replenishing of food was very slow and at times, people were lining up waiting for food in front of empty trays. The overall dining experience was lousy.

The plus points of the resort were the its design which is above the water, which make it unique. Sitting at the balcony at night with sea breeze and a cold drinks, with unobstructed view of the open sea was a pleasant experience. Do ask for rooms further away from the shore. There were free electrical cart service to transport guests and luggage to rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms as far away from the shore as possible

Stayed on the Legend water Chalet folr 2 nights. The room was very nice we love it. Lrge flatscreen TV and free wi-fi in the room. Romantic set up with open roof bath (manually operated) and a nice tub. It has a balcony, but the water underneath is muddy. You may walk on the concrete pathway right to the end of the chalet which goes into the deeper water. Guest were allowed to fish. Fishing sets can be rented from the hotel.

Food was reasonably good, but I wouldnt give it a 5 star rating. Car parking was spacious, and you may also come either on your motorcycles or bicycles. But due to the large numbers of rooms and chalets, guests are more likely to become a number, a statistic..

But on 2nd night we were unlucky. 2 roaches came out from underneath. Is was disgusting. The crept around and I had to call the housekeeping. They came and hunt the roaches with insecticide spay! Wife was hysterical! I was laughing.

Tips: dont bother with the staff, just do you what you like.

Room Tip: If you are staying at the water chalet, get the one furthest end, right into the sea. Electric cart...
