This hotel is gorgeous. The rooms are very pretty.it's a great hotel for a romantic getaway.
The cafe has a singer at dinner time which adds to the romantic atmosphere.Food was amazing.
Lake Nakura is minutes away by your safari car. To see a sea of Flamingoes and so many pelicans was one of the most beautiful sights for a nature lover like us.
Plenty of Rhinos and other animals can be seen in the game park not far away from the hotel.
I would strongly recommend Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge to one and all.

Lake Nakuru was beautiful and we enjoyed our one day stay there at the Lion Hill resort. We unfortunately did not see the Black Rhino but saw plenty of White Rhinos and even two that we thought were going to attack each other but were really kissing each other.

The Lake did not unfortunately have a lake full of flamingoes. Perhaps it was the timing we went but also we had heard that the population had been decreasing as the water levels in the lake had also been decreasing. The view from Baboons Cliff Lookout was beautiful and we caught the sunsetting. This was the one place where I saw self-driving safari guests.

The hotel itself is like all the Sarova lodges beautiful in the common areas. There are two rooms to a building. The room is the smallest among all the places we stayed at but the king beds were nice and they put a hot water bottle in the room to warm your bed. It was cool at night when we were there but not cold by any means and actually comfortable as compared to the Sarova Shaba where we had stayed the 2 nights prior.

Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the hotel and Lake Nakuru

Overall I feel that Lake Nakuru is a must see place (it was the only place we saw Rhinos in our 10 day safari) and the lake is beautiful. If you're coming here I do think this is the hotel to chose (there seems to be little choice in this NP). However, compared to many other palces we stayed in it lacked the wow factor of being on safari, it felt like we were staying in a hotel (there was even CNN on in the bar). Apart from that niggling feeling the hotel itself was good quality, clean and the service was excellent (they provided umberllas when it rained, and greated you with juice etc). Unfortuanetly it wasn't for me but if you're looking for a hotel feel whilst on safari this would be perfect!

Superb Hotel. Located inside the National Park and nestled on top of the hill amongst thick greenery around. The rooms are built on slopes and there is a nice pathway to lead you to the rooms. The staff is friendly and will help you with the luggage. No Telephones or TV here. They provide with mosquito repellent and mosquito nets re fitted in the rooms. Some rooms may vary in size but are big enough for two to three persons. Loved it more as it rained when we were staying and from the top it looked great. The food is excellent with varied choice. Yes even Indian Dishes are prepared. Every evening they have cultural progarmme to keep you entertained. Overall a wonderful experience and highly recommended

We arrived just as the clouds were gathering, so had a glimpse of the beauriful view of the lake through the gardens. The setting is calming, with gardens and paths. The concrete style bungelows are charming, but not very quiet. We could hear every word of the conversations in the adjoining room, including when they zipped their suitcases. Did not give us a sense of privacy at all! Do to the rain and increased misquitos, the misquito netting felt needed. There were screens on the windows, but some gaps in them. The buffett style food was the best , quailty and choices of any we had at the game lodges we visited. Service was outstanding. The rain stopped long enough to enjoy the traditional dance program which was a nice prelude to dinner. The wine menu was more than afqequte and reasonably priced. This is a small game park with many rhinos and we did see lions up a tree. Other than that is a nice drive around the lake...there are few flamingos left due to changes in the lake's water level and alkalinity.
We did notice several people in wheel chairs or with other mobility problems. The lodge seemed well equiped to accommodate these needs.

Room Tip: Ask for near the reception, otherwise you are climbing narrow paths and stone steps in the near dark...

The room at the lodge was very ordinary & the bathroom was small. Thankfully our room was very near to the reception. The rooms far from the reception were very difficult to access in the dark after dinner. The food spread on all the meals was vey good & the food was delicious. They have a show of african singing & dancing everyday before dinner. The service at the hotel was great. I was suffering from mouth ulcer & seeked medical help at the reception. They immediately sent a doctor to our room & he provided me with an ointment , that gave me instant relief & i was cured in 2 days. This was great on their part & quite unexpected in a forest area. The game drives at lake nakuru were great as well. We saw a rhino chase from very close by the bank of lake nakuru. A bigger white rhino was being chased by a smaller white rhino ---- was an amazing thing to see. you cant believe how fast they run !! Apart from that we also saw a black rhino family, 2 lionesses, cape buffelos, zebras , waterbucks & the lake full of flemingoes. Altogether it was great to visit lake nakuru.

Room Tip: book a room near the reception

Dear Guest,
Thank you so much for taking time to review your recent stay with us. I am glad to note that other than the size of the room you found all else to have exceeded your expectations.

Talking about game drives we had a pride of lions taking residency just outside of our gate for the last 3 days, all the guests were so amazed more so with their thunder like roars at night.

Again Asante Sana for choosing to stay with us and we look forward to your next visit.
