“Mohammed Mutlak Camp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

A friend and I volunteered with The Mohammed Mutlak Camp for over 2 weeks. I must say it was a great experience. All the guys are funny, good guys and its great to find out about the Bedouin ways and traditions. I would say that the camp (Facilities) is one of the best in Wadi Rum (From what I saw). The camp was in a great location, with a variety of Panorama’s around the site. I would definitely recommend you to spend a night or two camping out in the desert. Wadi Rum is a beautiful place and I hope that more people come to appreciate it ☺ Will be visiting back very soon!!

I first stayed here on a recommendation back in 2009, arriving on my own and not knowing what to expect. I was immediately made welcome and had an amazing time discovering the peace and beauty of Wadi Rum and the warmth of its inhabitants. I now consider this camp a home from home, and always look forward to an opportunity to spend time with my good friends there among the dunes and under the stars. And the food - excellent and plenty of it!

We just spent a weekend at the camp. They picked us up at the village and drove us around all day in jeeps showing the sights of the wadi. We had a lunch break where they cooked a hot meal over open fire and multiple tea stops. Some stops requied a short hike and the mix of walking and driving was perfect. We arrived at the camp just before the sunset and found our luggage waiting there. The rooms/tents are basic but very comfortable and clean, beds with linen and all. Surrounded by the desert peace and tranquility it was a magical evening.
After a refreshing sleep and a local breakfast we went on a hike to see some more sights of the wadi. Too bad we had to leave in the afternoon but definately feeling this is a place to return to.
We were 3 families with children ages 10-17 - all had a great time.
Highly recomended.

We stayed at the Mutlak camp for a couple of nights and it was really a fantastic time. Dinner and breakfast was great, also plenty of tea and time to chill out next to the fire at night time. The tours we did were fantastic and mohammed is a great guy. I would recommend to anyone who is coming to wadi rum!! Enjoy :)

We have been in the Mohammad camp 3 nights. The location is really nice, the accomodation is enough confortable, the excursions are interesting, but the main reason i reccomend thus camp is the friendly atmosphere, you can feel soon at home and have fun ....thanks to the young but clever and very nice camp manager, Mohammad. Every night, around the fire, he and his relatives and friends create a different happening, of course together with guests, if you like you can sing, tell tour story or just relax listening their song and laughing because of the jokes they make. Time passes fast, of course, but we will never forgett their tea, where tea means exchange of human feeling and experience and the simplest and most effective way. In one word: unforgettable.

I would highly recommend the Mutlak camp. Mohammed is the best guide in the Wadi Rum, he is very helpful, his science of the desert is really impressive.
The camp is ideally located, and the food provided is tasteful. You will enjoy tea around fire the whole evening, and even in the middle of the desert. We spent two days-two nights, and we could have spent more time there, as we enjoyed very much this place.

Excellent tour! I went on the jeep tour and the guide was very friendly and knew a lot about the local history. At night, on the camp, the ambiance was very pleasant and I had a good dinner. The tent is very comfortable and I will recomend it to all my friends.

The camp is small, intimate and very safe. It is in the south of the reserve, away from other tourists and far from traffic and worry. You will experience the serenity only found in the heart of the desert, and enjoy the dazzling night sky un-polluted by city lights. The bedrooms are Bedouin tents, both very attractive and comfortable, which open directly onto the desert expanse. The rest rooms are modern and clean, with flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. The dining area is a traditional semi-enclosed Bedouin tent with lounge, where you can recline to chat and drink endless cups of tasty local tea around the fire while gazing up at the stars. The meals are delicious and freshly prepared on site.
