A friend and I volunteered with The Mohammed Mutlak Camp for over 2 weeks. I must say it was a great experience. All the guys are funny, good guys and its great to find out about the Bedouin ways and traditions. I would say that the camp (Facilities) is one of the best in Wadi Rum (From what I saw). The camp was in a great location, with a variety of Panorama’s around the site. I would definitely recommend you to spend a night or two camping out in the desert. Wadi Rum is a beautiful place and I hope that more people come to appreciate it ☺ Will be visiting back very soon!!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The camp is small, intimate and very safe. It is in the south of the reserve, away from other tourists and far from traffic and worry. You will experience the serenity only found in the heart of the desert, and enjoy the dazzling night sky un-polluted by city lights. The bedrooms are Bedouin tents, both very attractive and comfortable, which open directly onto the desert expanse. The rest rooms are modern and clean, with flush toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. The dining area is a traditional semi-enclosed Bedouin tent with lounge, where you can recline to chat and drink endless cups of tasty local tea around the fire while gazing up at the stars. The meals are delicious and freshly prepared on site. You may even be treated to the melt-in-your mouth delight of zarb, a banquet of meat and vegetables slow-cooked the traditional way in an underground oven. The staff are polite and helpful, and available at all times to ensure your stay is perfect. ... more less
