“Amazing Experience Christine and Brian”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

Wonderful experience. The staff could not do enough for you.If you like outdoors with scenery like you have never seen before then this is the place. The food was plentiful and good. The jeep safari was unforgetable. We spent evenings star gazing and chatting around the fire. This holiday will not be forgotten and was special.

Room Tip: Bring your own sleeping bag liner and pillowcase

Our 2 night stay here was the absolute highlight of our Jordan holiday, notwithstanding visits to Jerash, Wadi ibn Hamid and Petra. If you can only go to one place go to Wadi Rum. The hospitality at this camp was excellent, the Jordanians, particularly the Bedouins, treat you as a guest and seem genuinely pleased to see you. The food was great - though ahead torch comes in handy to see what you are eating. The horizons and sky are totally magnificent and the dawn and sunsets sublime. The wash facilities are shared, more than adequate, but don't plan on washing your hair. Khaled and Salem were fab hosts, I would recommend this camp to everyone, just enough concessions to western expectations without compromising the REAL desert experience

Our visit to Wadi Rum and the camp, was quite amazing. Main memories, the wonderful clear skies, the sunset from up the hill, the peace and quiet, the hot sweet tea, the wonderful zarb meal cooked under the sand, the comfort of the tests and bedding, looking out for scorpions as we went to and from the showers torches in hand - and above all, the wonderful frienly reception of our Bedouin hosts. Thank you!

We spent two fantastic days and nights at the camp. The tents were very comfortable ( although you need to bring your own sheets and pillowcases if you want them) and the food was wonderful. Khaled and the team were very warm and welcoming. We had an unforgettable desert "safari" which took us through breathtaking scenery. The sunrises and sunsets in camp were spectacular. Wadi Rum is such a magical place- and you couldn't do better than to enjoy it while staying at the Rumshines Camp. I would definitely recommend it.

That is the place if you want to enjoy the Wadi the most. A true beduin family will welcome you and lead through all the beauties of this stunning desert. An experience that will warm your soul.
Thank you Khaled and his family for giving us the best experience we might have.

Wadi Rum Bedouin Camp is run by Khaled and his family. Included in the price (45 JD) was a free transfer to and from the bus station, a traditional dinner meal (slow cooked underground), breakfast, tea coffee and water, and the Wadi Rum entrance fee. We also choose to do a tour of the soft sands, the two bridges, some canyons, acacia trees, and the sight of the 1962 Lawrence of Arabia film. Khaled shared local and traditional knowledge, and stories of his heritage and family. We watched the sunset over the desert, star gazed and were treated like family. Highly recommend.

Room Tip: If the weather is nice - sleep out under the stars!

I had an amazing time in Wadi Rum, through Rumshines Camp. I spent a few days in the Desert, camping, hiking, sleeping under the stars.... I was really amazed how the Tents are great, really well built & comfortable. Khaled and his team are really friendly and helpful and make you feel as at home. Sunset at Camp is one of the best moments, you can climb the rocks near the Camp for a stunning view. Wordless. It's definitely worth a visit!
