I took a day-long 4W desert tour on Oct. 31 and an overnight stay at a Bedouin camp on a recommendation by another traveler I had met in Amman. Turned out that it was one of the best moments of my whole trip in Jordan!

I shared the jeep with two other guys I previously met on the road and three of us met Nadjat -- the camp's operator -- at the entrance of Rum village and got briefed about where we would be going throughout the day before meeting Mahmud (hope I spelled his name right!) - our guide for the day. He is the best guide you can possibly hope for -- engaging, funny, experienced and with great knowledge of the Bedouin life and desert in general as well as a good cook and a singer!

We went to visit the ruins of the Nabatean temple, Lawrence's spring, a mushroom rock, a rock bridge, a sand dune, etc (which were all great) before setting out to see a beautiful sunset from a sand dune. After that we went to a camp to unpack and have dinner at a big, common-area tent. The food was amazing with lots of cooked vegetables, bread, salad and even Bedouin-style chicken barbecue (cooked in an underground stone pit). Then Mahmud and several other Bedouin guys came in to play music for a few hours (to which we were to dance in line with their motto of 'no dance, no dinner.' It was fun!)

Then we went out to see the breathtakingly clear night sky (saw probably a dozen of shooting stars) and went to bed...

Apparently the tourism market in Wadi Rum is very competitive and the 4w day-tour can be as cheap as 30 JD depending on which tour operator you choose. Wadi Rum Green Desert charges you more than that, but given the whole experience I had, including great hospitality and professionalism shown by the staff, the whole trip for me was worth every penny. I would choose this company if I visit Wadi Rum again by any chance and would highly recommend it to anyone hoping to explore the desert.

We arrived in Wadi Rum after two days walking around Petra and three days diving in Aqaba so we were a little worn out. Nadjah and Mohammed met us at the rest house for coffee before we took off on our hour camel ride which is just the right amount of time on a camel. Afterward Mohammad met us for the 4WD part of our tour. He could sense that we were tired so he allowed us to go at our own pace. Wadi Rum is beautiful and Mohammad was a great tour guide! He joked with us, took great photos, and showed us a great desert sunset before taking us back to the camp. The tents are clean and comfortable, with enough blankets to keep us warm in the cold winter nights. The camp has ten tents, to accommodate up to twenty people. We met in the mess tent for tea, music, and a delicious dinner. The next day we hiked up to Umm Adaami with Seleh to great views of Saudi. Afterward we shared a great lunch with a group of British girls who we had met at the top. We relaxed and chatted for hours before heading back to camp. It was a great couple of days! I highly recommend Wadi Rum Green Desert. Nadjah is very professional, hospitable, and always concerned about our satisfaction. He was also very prompt in returning my emails (in excellent English!). The camp was so quiet and secluded with amazing moon and stars at night. Good food, clean bathrooms, nice people. Wonderful experience!

We spent a day, a night, and a morning with Green Desert. The experience was outstanding! Our driver took us around is his old Land Cruiser which was an experience in and of itself. There was a beautiful new view around every corner. We spent the evening drinking delicious tea and eating a traditional Bedouin meal. I would highly recommend this company if you are visiting Wadi Rum.

This camp stands out due to the following :

1- Located well inside the Wadi Rum reserve and secluded from other camping areas

2- Najeh, the young charismatic owner, is keen on excellent service.

3- All the guides including the two brothers Najeh, and Abdul Rahim, as well as Mahmud and Abdalla are local Bedouins who know every inch of the beautiful Wadi Rum

4- Reliable service and honest pricing.

5- Last but not least, it is not a very big camp, so the max you would find at any day is around 12 to 15 persons, which makes the experience more personalized than other camps (there are other highly ranked camps listed, but they may have 40 to 50 guests which is less agreeable to our taste).

Overall, highly recommended, starting from the responsive and reliable email communication, to reception by the hosts, authentic dinners, and wonderful visits in numerous and charming desert attractions.

I thought that this trip was so professional and knowledgeable, as well as being fun and entertaining. Both Nadja and Mohammad were fantastic and there wasn't anything I could fault on this 2 day experience. Can't wait to do it all again!

We spent two days and one night in Wadi Rum Green Desert and we are very happy about our experience. Nadjah was very kind and efficient. The first day Nadjah showed us the most interesting places in Wadi Rum desert by jeep. We stayed the time we wanted in each place to take photos and to enjoy. In the evening we went to the camp to see the sunset. The camp is very nice and the tent was very comfortable. The tent is really like a little cottage because inside is made of wood. It has a solar lamp and the power supply of the camp is from solar energy. The dinner was the typical bedouin food that was cooked in the oven inside the sand. It was delicious. See the sky full of stars in the middel of the desert was incredible. In the morning, we saw the sunrise and came back to Wadi Rum village by camel. In the last stage, we were very tired so we asked Nadjah to pick us up by jeep and he sent a driver. If you like quiet places and personalized treatment, this is an excellent option.

We did a half day jeep tour (all Nadjah's tours are private) and bivouac camping. We loved every minute of it! Sleeping under the stars was special and beautiful. Nadjah's younger brother was our guide voor the night, he did an excellent job. Food was actually one of the best meals we had in Jordan. Nadjah was a superb host. We would really recommend you to stay here, and would love to stay here again!
