We were a group of 6 wanting to see as much as we could of Wadi Rum in a 24 hour trip. After extensively researching camps in the area, I settled on this one after contacting them directly. Two of our group wanted a camel trek, the rest of us wanted a jeep trip...all ending up at our camp for the night.
The jeep trip was fun and exciting, seeing lots of highlights like the rock bridges, two of which we climbed. We walked through canyons and climbed sand dunes. We sat on the back of the truck with the wind in our hair. (There was a canopy over, but by the end so much of it has blown off it wasn't worth being there) Our truck also got stuck in the sand at one point. (one does wonder why they don't use 4 wheel drives for this desert drive!!!)
We met our friends back at camp and were pleasantly surprised. The huts had clean bedding on and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. The toilet block was clean and the showers had hot water...bliss after being covered in sand for 7 hours.
We sat on a sand dune and watched sunset....and the Full moon come up...couldn't have planned staying in the full moon camp any better eh?
By now we were hungry, but couldn't smell any food cooking. We did wonder if we were going to be fed. The camp fire was lit and the oud came out where one played it and another sang. We lay in the matresses on the floor looking at the stars. Eventually we were told that they had to dig up dinner. And dig it up they did. Under the ground they had cooked potatoes chicken, onions and tomatoes. It was delicious. There were salads and rice to go with it as well as water and hot, sweet tea.
We all slept really well here, some outside under the stars and some in their huts. I would thoroughly recommend staying here, I felt the package of 7 hour jeep tour with dinner and B&B for 40JD excellent value.
