“Wadi Rum with Bedouin Roads”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

My partner Rona and I wished to spend 5 days in the Wadi Rum area climbing peaks, from the easiest which was a walk, to a 2 day trip involving climbing with an overnight camp on the summit of Jebel Rum. We engaged the services of Attayak Ali to provide accomodation at the Bedouin Roads camp and a guide for each day. From our first contact with Attayak via e-mail, he could not have been more helpful in providing clear information on what was involved for each peak, and what the cost of each day would be. He was also very helpful in making suggestions as to how best spend our time, and with arranging transport to and from Wadi Rum. The camp is in a wonderful situation and given that you are living in the desert, I would say of a very comfortable standard. The food cooked by Ahmed was delicious every night of our stay and it was a real pleasure to sit under the stars eating by the fire. Our guide for the 5 days climbing was Zidane, a young Bedouin man with a great love of his homeland, perfect English, a huge amount of local knowledge and a very competent mountain guide. It was a real pleasure, and great fun to be in his company each day. During our stay the various people of Bedouin Roads were great hosts and I would reccommend their services to anyone.

“Highlight of our trip was with Bedouin Roads camp and tour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

We spent two nights at Attayak Ali's camp. The first day we had our own jeep and guide who was funny and wonderful. Then we arrived in a comfortable but simple camp where we had tea and ate a simple but delicious meal.

The next day we were allowed to stay in the camp and hike around Wadi Rum on our own (bring tons of water and don't do this unless you have a great sense of direction). The camp cool gave us a lunch and 5 liters if water.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the day alone in the desert. I would highly recommend both.

The simplicity of being in the desert and sipping tea by the fire was the highlight of our trip to Jordan.

“A wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2012

The two days we spend trekking in Wadi Rum with Bedouin Roads were definitely the highlight of our trip to Jordan. Our guide Ernad (apologies for the phonetic spelling!) couldn't have been better and Attayak and his team were friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming and well organised. The food they provided was great and the accommodation at their camp was a lot more comfortable than we'd any right to expect in the middle of the desert! I'd recommend them to anybody.

“really worthwhile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2012

we booked through their internet site, looking for a camp that wouldn't be full of people and noise: the owner answered us immediately. We met at the visitor center at the wadi rum entrance, he took us to the camp by car (his car, we left our car there). We were just 6, we had a wonderful night dining with the bedouins, playing traditional music and talking. The bedouins are really nice, smart and helpful.
The next day we had breakfast and then we left, each couple with its guide. we reached the rocks and we started to scramble till the summit, that was an astonishing rock bridge.
On the way back we had a tea in the desert, a traditional lunch, and finally we had a 4 X 4 tour.
We had a great time.
The bedouins renewd everything in the camp in 2011: there's water (cold) and 4 toilets. The tent was nice and the food was great.
