We spent 3 days (2 nights) in Mehedi's camp (Bedouin Directions) in Wadi Ram in April 2013.
We simply emailed Mehedi about our plans and interests and he wrote back really promptly with several itinerary options. We didn't have to pay anything upfront.
Mehedi gave us a warm welcome when we arrived to Rum Village.
We started our discovery of Wadi Rum with a camel ride taking us to the camp. The next day, we had a jeep tour of the sights in Wadi Rum. Our guide answered our every question about desert, bedouin life and Jordan. He also prepared a delicious lunch for us. We stopped in really nice spots, including one for sunset before returning to the camp.
Mahedi's camp is well situated in a quiet part of the Wadi Ram reserve. The tents are immaculately clean and cosy, the blankets kept us really warm even when it was freezing outside. The evening had bedouin entertainment, tea, dancing and bedouin style cooked food.
If your travel schedule allows, we HIGHLY recommend you to stay as long as possible at this camp.
Definitely hope to be back someday soon.
Thanks to Mehedi and his team for a great experience.
