“Great view disappointing service and room structure”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Stayed here with our kids, family room has one room with a door for the kids , and parents bed in the living room so no privacy at all.
Little pool In front of the room has no privacy as well because other guests are passing through
Service is bad even in Israeli standard . Takes a long time to get front desk help or answer the phone and restaurants service not friendly and slow.
This is a nice place with potential but ...
Amazing views of the crater , amazing location.

We just got back from the Beresheet Hotel in Mitspe Ramon, Israel. The hotel and the location are really unique and I don't think you will find anything quite like this hotel anywhere in the world. I give the hotel ten out of ten for everything - accommodations, service, amenities, meals and of course the VIEW - wow what a view and so tranquille.... Our vacation was really wonderful - too short of course! And yes - I would definitely go back to the Beresheet Hotel again.

This is no doubt a good hotel with a huge potential of being a great one. The view is absolutely stunning and design is very clean and inviting. However it's the little things that make your stay ok but not more than that. One would expect from this level of hotel to pay more attention to details (such as not having torn baby cots, furniture being better taken care of, paper towels in public toilets of better quality than those you get at gas stations, etc...). The price is way overrated, considering what you get in return.
Breakfast is great with a big variety, however, dinner is less than average and the price isn't justified at all. It doesn't even include wine (any type, not even a cheap wine) and hot drinks at the end are not an option (for that you would have to go to the other restaurant at the hotel and pay for your hot drinks separately). For the price they charge for dinner you can eat at some of the nicest places in Tel Aviv and also drink wine and coffee. Dinner at this hotel is a real rip off!!
One more amazing fact for those of you with young children - in any of the public restrooms there is no diaper changing stand!! Weird....

Well not quite the middle of the desert, actually on the beautiful side of a small desert town (Mitzpe Ramon) this unusual hotel with stone-walled luxurious bungalows is an experience to remember. The rooms (almost apartment- sized) are luxuriously furnished without feeling opulent. All have either a 'garden' (actually more of an outside sitting area) or a balcony, some have small decorative pools and some have outstanding views of the Ramon crater. Guests (mostly Israeli when we were there) are intended to feel special and cosseted by a very attentive (sometimes too attentive) staff of young Israelis, most of them fairly fresh from their military service. The food is excellent, almost gourmet, (albeit expensive) with many culinary inventions. The hotel is built to blend in with the surrounding desert and is an excellent place from which to explore Israel's dramatic Negev desert

Great desert getaway , wonderful views , great rooms , excellent service.
The only "complaint" that we had was that at the hotel dinner which is quite costly , there was not cold or hot beverages offered as part of the price. Its just that small detail that would make the otherwise great dinner - excellent.

Room Tip: I wouldnt go for the rooms with the private pool - its small and not very private...

The service is excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with modern amenities but ancient style. But, the main reason to stay here is the stunning views of the Ramon Crater. The hotel sits right on the edge. It's one of the most enjoyable hotels I've stayed in. Also, the food is terrific.

For those who can afford it, Beresheet has it all - large luxury rooms, a striking view to the Ramon crater and the desert, wildlife and nature just outside your room, comfortable beds, splendid meals (for a hotel) and friendly staff.

We stayed at a ground-floor room with a pool, and it was more than a gimmick - immersing yourself in water just outside your doorstep while the desert sun is high is a mesmerizing experience.

The only bad thing I have to report is that during dinner, it took the main courses over 30 minutes to arrive, and the waiters were extremely indifferent every time we inquired about our food.

Room Tip: Pool-side room is awesome!
