“Perfect place for a quick break and a yummy lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2013

The Lakeview restaurant is a perfect place for a break. The view for the restaurant is breathtaking. Enjoying the view of the two volcano lakes while having local dishes for lunch was awesome. I particularly loved the fresh squeeze local fruit juice that they had. The sauce that came with the chicken was SO delicious! This is definitely a “Do not miss” spot when visiting Bali.

“What a view!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Breakfast was tasty, but it's the view that I'll remember. It was worth the drive just for that.
Would definitely recommend a trip up there.

Thanks for your vote of confidence in our service, food and view. I'm glad you enjoyed your brief visit.

Most of our Australian guests only come on day trips (breakfast or lunch) as they prefer to stay in the busier parts of Bali where there is more nightlife available, but a trip into the interior is a definite must. I like to joke that Kuta is the 6th state of Australia... so if you've only been to Kuta, you haven't actually seen Bali yet.

Thanks again for recommending us! Do come back if you feel like climbing that mountain you saw across the crater from where you sat for breakfast.

“Average restaurant but fantastic view!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013 via mobile

Was a bit disappointed with the foods because there was not much choices. The foods also below average. Still the view was fantastic because you can see the mountain and the lake. Luckily we were able to see it for a few minutes and take a few nice pictures before the fog came. Overall won't really recommend much for the foods but if the purpose is to view the mountain and lake, the restaurant got a great spot for it!

Thank you for your candid review. I'm truly sorry you did not find our food as amazing as the food of your home in Ipoh (which I love, by the way).

We do have a huge range of clientele from all over Europe as well as Asia, and it's hard to please everyone when it comes to producing authentic yet not too spicy meals on our buffet. With over 14 items on the buffet, usually our guests can find something to their liking, but if not you can always try our a la carte service.

If you prefer your food to be spicy, I highly recommend you try our bean and chayote or tilapia and chayote soups on the a la carte menu. The ginger and chili in those soups are great for warming up the body in the cool mountain air of Kintamani. The Urab is also a nice fresh & spicy vegetarian dish which comes with an aromatic-ginger fried rice.

For the adventurous, we have some local delicacies such as carp roe in banana leaf, grilled eel or bee-larvae lawar which appear on the buffet in the seasons that those ingredients become available.

“Great views of Mt.Batur on Kintamani”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

We stopped for lunch. They had a buffet with some good items including a tuna satay being prepared fresh. They also have a few western selections. The view is the reason to stop here. Fantastic views of the volcano and surrounding countryside! Reasonably priced and family friendly. Would recommend if you are heading up Kintamani.

Thank you for your candid review. We are glad you had a good time at our restaurant and look forward to hosting you and your family in the future.

We have an a la carte service, but for guests in a rush we have a generous buffet with a huge vegetarian section which is separate to the meat section, satay section, fruit section, and coffee & cake section.

“a simple lunch with wonderfull view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

so, it's been two and a half year since my last visit to Kintamani, and to be honest i have no idea what to expect. That's why i go with this restaurant, this is and 'old' one, meaning already stand and operated for couple of year. Of course the view was fantastic, got the view of not only the mountain but also the lake. The food well.....not bad yet not really speacial, some taste good (maybe because i arrive at 11.30) some just average. I go with the buffet lunch packages IDR 88,000 ++ (16%tax and service charge), grab a plate of nasi goreng (nice one), satay (the fish one was nice), veggies (fresh), soup (average), and some slice of papayas and fried banana (average). I took the outside table with a great view and they already prepare a bottle of mineral water (include on packages) and some round bread (which i didn't eat because a little to hard for my taste). As other drink i go with Chai tea IDR 35,000 ++ which not bad.
The waiters was warm and friendly, helpfull also. Yet i'm kind of confuse since when i come the restaurant is almost empthy and i was wondering if it close or not hahahaha..... but overall, it was nice,i'll try to drag my family another time, and who knows maybe well staying then?!

I'm glad you came and took advantage of our low-season special rates for locals and expats (Rp. 88.000 nett per person -- offer lasts til 31 March 2013). It is indeed low season for tourism in Bali, except for the Japanese and Russian people escaping a cold winter.

We are using the opportunity of the low season to fix/renovate a section of the buffet set up, hence there is no longer tea and coffee on the buffet (we still serve it a la carte, only Rp. 10.000 a cup). To make up for this we have the complimentary bottle of mineral water included in the price of the buffet. I'm glad you didn't even notice we were renovating behind the screen with the Lakeview staff photo on it!

Thanks for the note on the hard buns, I checked on today's buffet to make sure they were warm and fluffy and sent all the hard-ones back to the kitchen for recycling into bread-and-butter pudding. Please do not hesitate to give feedback to our staff if you find something is not up to your standards.

If you want to drop by with your family next time outside the peak lunch hours, do note that throughout the low season we have complimentary peanuts as well as the complimentary bread rolls with pesto.
